Even if they get out in the 2nd round or something I see durant leaving. Even with the cap spike i see them having a hard time adding anymore significant pieces. He might be like LMA and think that team has capped.
This! Buford inherited the Big 3, and has done an excellent job keeping this core together since 2002. It's been a great ride, but it will soon be over. Then he'll have a lot tougher challenge then he's had to date - recruiting players to a small market without superstars as a draw. His job is about to get a lot more difficult.
Danny is just collecting assets. Danny is setting himself up to strike when the time is right. But how attractive are his assets? He tried last year for Kevin Love, but the Wolves weren't interested. Now the C's are said to not be as high on Love as they were before. This year, he tried to trade [was it 4 or 6?] multiple draft picks for [apparently] Justise Winslow. Horncats weren't interested. Trader Danny is hoping & wishing someone trades him a star. Everyone on the C's roster is available but Danny needs/wants a [potential] star coming back. He's not trading Smart or whoever for spare parts.
Which productive rim protecting center on a rookie co tract will any team trade for randle? I cant think of one.
The only way to get smart is if capella is having a breakout season next year and hes traded for him. Ainge isnt a fool. Hes the one who takes advantage of other gms not the othr way around. And because morrey isnt a fool either good luck making a trade. same thing with uijiri.
Malakas, who do you think the Rockets should target at PG? Is there anybody in the east that may be available that we aren't talking about?
Info coming out of Los Angeles has lost it's power after Dwight saying no to them. They no longer have the mystique they had and if they say they're getting LMA without LMA's input... that info just holds no weight with me anymore.
I dont know my friend. We dont have capspace. That means we are looking mostly at the vet min. There are some. For others a trade is required. But unless we know what other trade options are on the table for morrey if for example the trade assets and tgeir salaries can be utilised for the acquisition for a star then we cant say. In the draft someone offered a guard to morrey for ariza . He was tempted but in the end declined. So hes waiting to see what happens with love and lma before he pursues guards. One thing is for sure. There is no better use of the mle than on llull now that kj is pretty much gone. If we can get trey burke for minimal assets as a reclamation project that would be nice. Bledsoe also is being shopped. It was telling at the end of the regular season the blatant ommision of his name from the gm interview and the draft trade scenarios involving him only further confirmed it. So its definitely a situation that should be exolored if no star is acquired i can also guarantee that mayo and bayless are available lol jennings is available but imo its not worth even kpap.
I wish Cyberx could tell us who that was.. Oh well.. maybe it's best we don't know.. Morey know's what he's doing. He comes from Ainge's tree of knowledge (God I sound like Dr. Seuss or some crap lol). Both are very calculated. When the cap increases, we can make more moves.
No. Not enough capspace.they prefer to keep their own free agents. Unless lma has a sudden schizophrenic urge to join detroit all of a sudden and jennings is dumbed. And that would make them a immediate eastern contender.
I guess it is the Rockets or Spurs for LMA then. As I said before I will just sit back and wait to see what happens in the next couple of weeks.
Exactly!!!!!!! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!!!!! I'm not saying Cyberx doesn't have good info... just saying that info is probably not coming from LMA directly. It's probably coming from Los Angeles either directly or indirectly and the info they have is tainted. Yes tainted by LMA's real desire. He has already made it clear he wants to be closer to family. And he's proven that by the fact he has already made it very clear he wants out of Portland. That move will cost him 10's of millions maybe 100. Why would he want out of Portland and into the craziness that is Kobe Bryant and LA and lose even more because state and local taxes and cost of living. It makes no sense at all! But what does make sense is that LMA knows if he wants to include Houston as a trade possibility he has to somehow convince he has other options besides. Hence LA and the spurs. If Portland believes his only option is Houston than they will ask the bank. Multiple 1sts, Dmo Capela cap fillers. If he wants to save Houston some grief than he has to convince Portland that he is not interested in Houston and it has to become Portland and Houston's idea. Yea Houston has to confront the Blazers somehow that they want LMA and if they can convince him to do a SnT would the Blazers agree. And then LMA's camp has to convince the Blazers thay are truly interested in LA and the Blazers have to buy out. Morey is already out playing the game. He just said it is highly unlikely we get one of the big names after sources said the Rockets will go hard after Love and LMA. Two things were accomplished by those 2 statements. 1 Morey doesn't believe LMA wants to sign here and 2 the Blazers know we want to deal with them if we can convince him. The Blazers may not buy it completely but they don't have to. All they have to do is be slightly convinced that they are going to lose LMA for nothing and a small window of something is better than nothing opens. Of course I could be totally wrong but one thing is for sure the Blazers are cleaning house and drafting for a future without Lamarcus. And if it's already written in the stones that Aldridge is gone and LMA made it very clear he wanted to play in Texas and he wanted to play for a winner, both statements straight out of the #1 sources mouth. Then I find it hard to believe that he would do a 180 and agree to play for a dysfunctional loser located millions of miles away from his family. Nope not a viable alternative in my books for a man who clearly loves family and winning so much that he's willing to throw millions away. Remember when the Cavs said we're not doing a SnT for Lebron. And Lebron said we don't care we are going anyway. And then the did the snt just to get something. Only now SnT doesn't help you gain more money and LMA has no reason to do anything for the Blazers to get out. But if he wants to come to Houston he has to convince them he doesn't and they have to get scared they are about to get nothing and beg for something. That makes a lot more sense to me than LMA to LA. His agent is doing his job and Morey is working in cahoots with him. And that's why LMA hasn't even mentioned the Rockets. Not 1 peep and that's why Morey is saying it is highly unlikely. Because they are making maneuvers as we sleep to make it happen. Just sayin...
He'll be the face of the franchise in the NBA's biggest market once Kobe retires. He's spent his career in the shadow of Brandon Roy and Damian Lillard. I think he wants to be the man. It's why San Antonio and Dallas are options as well. Both have aging stars. He could take over once they're gone. I personally think he goes to San Antonio.
If he goes to LA he will be in a rebuilding process. I personally believe that the Rockets have a better shot than Dallas. I would even say that the Rockets have a good shot over the Spurs.
