one interesting thing is, if you look at the salary situation of all the teams, you will realize that very few teams now have thee cap space needed to give Bledsoe the max. Indeed, only Charlotte has 14M left and can benefit tremendously from having him. Pistons can work out a sign and trade for him for Monroe. Lakers trading Lin and Randles for Bledsoe also make sense, if it is doable. other than that, the market for PG is really really saturated. If Charlotte doesn't want Bledsoe, Bledsoe would not have much leverage to get the max. Phoenix is just doing the right thing of playing this out. I think the most he can do is to sign one year and threaten to leave after one year, but he will be forfeiting like 10M next year and may never make up for this loss.
It makes sense for Houston. It doesn't necessarily make sense for Phoenix. They're trying to keep Bledsoe. Them being far apart on numbers doesn't mean sending him to Houston or sending dragic there makes sense. They'll keep negotiating and if a trade is inevitable, they'll call all 29 teams and see whos interested. All we have to offer is the NO pick. Yes it's nice but won't get you much when competing. TJones is valued higher in Houston than other places and he's not even valued much here. The rest are players who havent had any good games in their careers outside of summer league
Bledsoe would probably be better off taking the QO at this point. Prove he's worth the max next year and walk.
I agree and disagree, the league is stacked with point guards, most of whom make between 7-12 million so in that instance he isn't worth the max, however in the offers that have been thrown up this summer he is deffently more deserving
And OKC was trying to keep Harden... Problem is if PHX has attached a certain value to him, and cannot strike a deal with him (which is why he is still unsigned), they will be inclined to get fair market value for him from another team. And not all 29 teams would interested in acquiring Bledsoe, whether it be due to cap constraints, no draft picks to send back, already having a set back court, etc. And on top of all that Bledsoe is a FA, albeit restricted, meaning he would ultimately choose his new destination, not PHX...
it's very reasonable to think that Bledsoe isn't worth the max at the moment, just as people didn't view Harden as a max player. I think Bledsoe can help a team win a lot of games.
When he's healthy, no doubt. However based on his play style and previous injury history, that's a huge question mark.
I would much rather have Dragic's defense and superior scoring ability over Bledsoe's. I think having a Dragic/Bev combo at the 1 would be good enough for defensive purposes, but if Harden or Howard were to rest a few games to nurse injury, I think we could relegate scoring duties to Dragic. Bledsoe's injury is a huge concern to me.
Dude, just stop. You're not an insider. That has been proven in this very thread, when you had the nerve to call me and others out for exposing roe4christ as a fraud: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=9109084&postcount=906 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?p=9108180#post9108180 You blamed me and other respected posters for running him off, when just a few posts later it was confirmed by Clutch that the guy was a fraud and was trying to deceive us all. Instead of apologizing and eating some humble pie, you instead take a few days off and completely ignore the fact that you were way off base, once again. You've already been run off of the board once for your terrible predictions, and now you're doubling down and doing it again. You're doing a disservice to this board and those of us that are looking for legitimate information about the team we are fans of.
I will be very happy with either Bledsoe or Dragic. Both are very capable. The problem is whether we can get either one.
