Resign Bev and keep trying for Llull. Losing Ariza will be such a huge mistake. Especially if KJ is gone.
If we get LMA, there's very little chance that Lull comes over, imo. We'd have to offer him less than what we are..
If you S&T for Aldridge, which is BY FAR the most likely scenario, it would have zero impact on Llull. He'd be offered the MLE regardless.
That logic of resigning Bev and hoping Llull coming over is outrageous. Bev is not that good. We need to bring in a better pg that can run a offense and shoot the ball better. Again, I agree that losing Ariza will hurt this team. I am also in the mind set that LMA will help this team. I am 50-50 in this situation.
Philadelphia will always be there to help facilitate an LMA signing. If LMA wants Houston then Morey will find a way.
Clyde is not any different than be always was. The player Clyde and the coach Clyde. I don't think he cares either way.
It's not likely but I would MUCH prefer that than LMA and Ariza. Hell I would take a Llull/Stuckey combo over losing Ariza for LMA. IMO our PF rotation is more than sufficient. Guard play is what wins the West. Just ask Memphis.
We won't be the only team Aldridge will be meeting with, even if he loves us he will likely honor all the organization that have interest with him and go through with multiple meetings (Like Melo did with us). So I wouldn't expect an answer until around the 10th at soonest.
To me this just seems like a due diligence type of thing. It would almost be irresponsible to not make some sort of pitch. I still think the chances of landing him are quite slim.
If you are talking about LMA or Llull, neither would be eligible for a "poison pill" contract. Basically, it only works if the player was a 2nd rd pick or went undrafted and they are restricted FAs in either their 1st or 2nd yrs in the NBA. Here's an article explaining more
