Smith is the better player IMO, i'd prefer him over Brewer. Problem is we have Jones, Motie (possibly Scola) as well as Capela and Dorsey in the front court. Who do we have behind Ariza and Harden? Terry, Johnson? On top of that, we have Brewers bird rights, we can use our MLE and still re-sign Brew, we don't have that luxury with Smith.
Cmon Llull dont do it to us...but I feel his camp may want a team where has a guaranteed starters spot
Maybe it's for the best. Opens up drafting PG or trading for one, also makes re-signing PatBev a necessity. Don't want to go through draft and beginning of free agency thinking Llull is coming, only for him to end up staying and you're stuck with no PG
if rockets, a team with a decent market and a need at PG, can't bring over llull, i can't imagine how worthless his trade value would be.
As Clutch/Bima discussed on the podcast, the most likely trade destination would be Toronto in a package for Lowry, and I'd be so down for that. I wonder if Lull, Papa, TJones and 32 does it for Lowry.
Please stay calm folks. Don't let leaks like this rile you up. Try to remember all the leaks coming out about Dwight and him not liking Houston, wanting the Warriors to get him, being impressed by the Lakers, changing his mind mid flight, etc. that all turned out to be false plants.
How valuable would his rights be if a team in Houston's situation (WCF, 2 elite players, diverse city) can't get Llull to come? Maybe if Marc stays in Memphis they would take him in exchange for the #25 pick? Highly unlikely I'm sure.
