Hmm lets see. So DMo is a fitness player that can't shoot freethrows? And Lee is also a finesse player who shot 65% from the line last season. DMo wasn't a clear starter? Lee definitely is a bench player and he racked up quite a few DNP-Coaches decision this season. The Rockets got to the WCF without DMo? Lee also didn't play much until the last 3 games of the finals. Also factor in that Lee is a horrific defender and is historically bad at defending the rim. Lee is a better rebounded but he also can't shoot the 3.
I can understand Cyber's commentary on DMo v D-Lee. Lee may be better suited for a team that absolutely wants to win RIGHT NOW and has a gap at the PF position, either as a starter or 6th Man. Right now, assuming DMo is healthy, they are actually fairly similar - finesse 4s that have 1 major deficiency (rebounding for DMo, defense in general for Lee) - Lee is just viewed as a smart 'vet' that has been an All-Star recently, while DMo is a young kid who can be prone to mistakes. But from Morey's POV, DMo is far more valuable - he's 8 years younger and still developing, 7 feet, and has a very solid low post game with an ever increasing percentage from 3. TJ? Yeah, I'd take Lee over him in a heartbeat. DMo? Hell no. Outside of maybe Cleveland if they lose Love, OKC perhaps due to the need to win big for Durant, and possibly Miami, I feel fairly comfortable saying the NBA would choose DMo over D-Lee.
Ummm...D-Mo can score from the low post via backing his man down. It's not something Lee does a lot of. DMo is more of a low-post scorer than Lee is. Lee is 32 and with how the Warriors played they were not interested in using him or keeping him. This usually is not a good sign for an aging player. It may be that his time is up. Even still it's not really about DMo vs Lee, it's really about what the team will look like in the end. If you trade Dmo and get Lawson and swing a signing for Lee then sure. Oddly enough though if that were the case I'd rather roll with Jones and Smith and sign Scola as insurance.
D-Mo at 24 years of age is a far better player than injury prone Lee at 32. I don't know how this is even a question. The Warriors would jump off a building in euphoria I'd the Rockets ever proposed a D-Mo for Lee trade. Other than this freakish back injury, D-Mo has been fairly durable for us for three straight years.
How is this even still a discussion? Lee isn't eligible for the stretch provision which means he's not attainable for us.
Eh that's to be expected when someone like Cyber posts an opinion about lee vs dmo. It's not a relevant discussion but simply arguing opinion. The funny thing is apparently Lee isn't even a possibility (at least in the way cyber described) so as usual this thread is a discussion about whatever.
This thread is about throwing poo at the wall to see what sticks. KPap's option is being picked up .... who didnt see that coming a hundred miles away ?! Morey interested in Durant .... layup.
Cyberx, what's the latest news? Just read that papas option has not been picked up, even though you believed it had been. Any idea what's going on there? Also what is the latest on llull? Do you know what we are actually offering him? $24 mill for me is just a ridiculous overpay and is going to royally screw our depth. I was hoping morey would pursue Lawson/bledsoe/knight instead but it doesn't look that way. Which reminds me, any further developments on brewer/smoove? Thanks mate
Morey might have already looked at other options and either the asking price is too high, no one wants what we have to offer, or trading with us is predicated on finding other trade partners/pending completion of other moves first. Morey could already be on plan C but we'll never know it because we aren't privileged to front office conversations. Maybe the Cardinals can hack the Rockets too so we can see what's going on.
Normally I would tend to agree, but $24 million? Surely that price plus the players we are going to lose is much higher than the price to acquire a quality pg such as Lawson or knight.
I agree which makes me think those teams just don't like what we have to offer. The cap exponentially rising coupled with the pending CBA renegotiation is going to change the perception of how a team will operate and the moves we think they'll make based off past history.
True. But I don't think acquiring a player such as Brandon Jennings and rolling with d.j. Augustin/Jarrett Jack next to harden until Jennings was fit would be hard to achieve. The Pistons are looking to move Jennings, I get he won't be for for a while, which is why you would sign a player such as Augustin as a backup who can start until Jennings is ready to go. It just doesn't make any sense at all. Of course nothing is confirmed, but if the offseason ends with us losing beverley, smith, brewer and possibly kj and bringing in llull and bringing kpap back then I will be very disappointed and concerned about our legitimacy as a contender.
They are bsing. They told his people its getting picked up. Maybe its for leverage? Maybe draft day deal? Hearing today Rockets may make a move for Thad Young.
Now this I like. Thad just shows up and plays well everywhere he goes. Is there any news on where Aldridge is leaning that's new. I'm asking in general not necessarily just for the rockets. Preciate the new as always!!
