Not necessarily. D-Mo(assuming he recovers fully from his injury) would be a better trade asset than Capela. At least for now. And Brewer is definitely an inferior player to Ariza, but the salaries could be made to match since he'd have to agree to a sign-and-trade to Portland.

Backcourt is a 3 man rotation as are the PF & C positions. Aldridge is an underrated defender at 5. The Rockets have gone to small ball when they've had the personnel to do so and it's where the league is headed anyway.

Have to look at the league though. Last night the majority of the game was played by 6' 8 or less players. Think the point guard situation is the biggest problem

If you some how can get Aldridge or Love, you do it, especially if you are hanging onto Ariza.

You don't need to know exactly what the rotation is going to be going into the season. Also..... Jones,Motie and Smith are nothing special.

LaMarcus Aldridge is 29, not 30. People have no idea what they are talking about when they say we do not need Aldridge.

I would do that proposed trade only if we have replacements lined up for Jones and Brewer and an answer for the PG spot. And no, re-signing Bev is not enough.

D-Mo, Jones, Brewer, K-Pap, and a first rounder for LMA. It's just an idea thrown out by a Rockets fan, but it's something I could realistically see the Blazers going for and beats anything the Mavs or Spurs could put together.

Somehow, i can see us getting Aldridge and Rondo at a deep discount (because of the deep discount) to p-slap the point guards that destroy us. I could see Rondo as a blanket to *perhaps* slow Curry. Also, Rondo, won't back down to any of the guys that open season on us (Lillard, Curry, Rivers, Austin haha). Rondo can't shoot, but won't need to, if you add Aldridge. He at least might be motivated against the mavs if we go against them next year again in Round 1.

Cyber, have you ever heard anything recent related to interest with Rondo and the Rockets? Anything recent on Rondo news?

    Rondo
    Harden
    Smith
    Aldridge
    Howard

wouldn't really matter as we'd win every game by 40.

Can we please stop with the Rondo talk? He was horrible with the Mavs. He quit on his team. He can't shoot jumpers. He can't even make half his free throws which is not only pathetic for a guard, but the absolute last thing this Rockets team needs right now with Dwight(and possibly Smith) already on the roster.

We need a PG who can play defense, make open 3's, make plays and get to the foul line(and actually make his free throws), and not demand too much money. Rondo can play defense, but otherwise fits none of those needs.

under normal circumstances, ie if aldridge were under contract. the blazers would laugh off a package consisting of capela, dmo, jones, and the 18th pick. think about it, not even one truly established starter among that group.

Well, not until he's not with us, or makes a choice somewhere else. If we get Aldridge and say that we can get Rondo on a vet minimum'ish (ie. why I mentioned DEEP discount), you are suggesting that we say "no" to him.

Besides, who wouldn't quit on Dallas? Maybe you, maybe you wouldn't, but that would say plenty about you. :)

The fact is that Rondo likely drove his price way down last postseason. Perhaps enough to be a steal for us or anyone willing to try. Josh Smith also drove his price way down (different, I know) but we are benefiting from that scenario playing poorly for their fan base, and I don't care about their fan base. I only care about ours.

And deciding in a vacuum isn't the right answer either, DM the GM would likely then go out and find a 3pt specialist to balance out the team.

You take away our depth we will won't sniff the WCF again. The Warriors have shown us how important depth is. Building on what we already have is the best recipe for a tittle. Add another playmaker (Llull) and some guys who can shoot 3's reliably. We don't need LMA at the cost of our entire roster.

Rondo is not taking anything close to the minimum to play for the Rockets and he is not a good fit for the Rockets.
