Rockets interested in 19-year-old Indian center Satnam Singh Bhamara http://journaltimes.com/sports/bask...cle_6881b892-df33-58c6-9c28-fd0f84cf9ed8.html
Doesn't matter what you think he's worth, what matters is the current market and he is absolutely 100 percent getting a contract worth more than 5 mil/year.
I'm so glad you're this tuned into the NBA FA market. Can you please provide some insight on Beverly's market value? Aminu is a similar player now to Mike Scott last year - 20 MPG, decent defensive forward on the bench with a poor 3 PT shot. Scott received ~$3 MM/year, do you really think the market has Aminu valued at a significantly higher rate? Sefalosha, Tucker, Miles are also comparable, and each received between $4 & $5 MM last year. I certainly may be off with the expected increase in 2016 cap, but your definitive statement is absurd.
Maybee this tweet (BIG) from DocRocket is a reference to Satnam https://mobile.twitter.com/Thedocrocket/status/604454412510109696
I'm not a insider, but rumor has it Detroit wanted to trade him since last season.. I don't think it would take much. Jones, Papa #18 worked on ESPN trade machine. Convince Llull to come over.. And make a 3 guard rotion with Harden
I guess second best in the West (regular season and playoffs), making the NBA's version of the final four, and having the third best finish in the league doesn't qualify. I guess there are only two teams in the league that qualify as contenders to you. Or is it just one? Maybe you should look up the meaning of the word "contender." I'm not sure you've got it straight.
The problem here is that when you spend the MLE on Llull and let Brewer walk you have no cap space nor cap exceptions to sign one of the plethora of available free agent wing players. All you have to work with at that point is minimum deals. Its almost silly to let Brewer walk unless you use the MLE on his replacement .... which again is pretty silly when Guard is your biggest roster issue. Sure , you could use the MLE to sign Llull then trade your meager assets for a wing .... but that creates depth issues. It cant be about the $$ either as signing Llull and Brewer wont put them in lux tax territory nor put them over the apron or near the hard cap. Strictly for cap purposes , ideally you'd use the MLE on a player upgrade and retain Brewer ..... retaining the flexibility above the cap as you have the option of trading Brewer & his contract after 90 days. Using the MLE on a PG and letting Brewer walk wrecks any roster flexibility for the coming season. How it impacts the next offseason is much harder to gage with the cap increase looming but Brewer at 5-6m over 2-3 years is probably a bargain contract when the cap expands making him an easily moved asset should you need to shed salary to create cap space.
In what world is a team that makes the WCF while missing 2 starters not considered a contender? Is the Arguement "oh LAC chocked"?? Chances are series doesn't even get to that if we had Dmo and Beverly. Heck if our players were healthy all season we would've won at least 60-62 wins this season. Dwight missed 41 games and could never get his post game going (last season he got it going once Harden got injured) and out starting lineup couldn't build chemistry all season.
In a fast moving world and in an ultra-competitive conference where the games are close and a few baskets here and there makes the difference between whether you are in the playoffs or the lottery. And with a team where if one player goes down we are an automatic lottery team. We can't stand pat. Too many other good teams already and too many young and upcoming teams like New Orleans, Utah, etc. that are on the rise and chasing hard after us. We were fortunate this season in that Harden stayed healthy throughout the season. You can say were were unfortunate with the loss of DMo and Bev. But those injuries simply illustrated how thin we are with true top 8 rotation players that can step in and make the difference. We were exposed by both injuries in the playoffs. So, this is not a contender. Truly, a contender is a team that makes the Finals or a team that has previously proven that they can make the Finals and they remain healthy with the same top 3-4 players as the year before. This group this season was an OVERACHIEVING group. That is great to have. A bunch of overachievers. Sure beats underachievers. But......our series against the Warriors proved we are still way short. We weren't competitive against them. You can dream all about what it would have been like with DMo and Bev out there. But if you think that's all we needed to beat the Warriors...well, keep thinking that.
Theres no way we would have beaten the warriors considering how historic their season has been. Theyre going to win the finals. But to say this core isnt a contender is straight up inaccurate. Id say any top 4 team is "contender status", and we reached it this year along with ATL. Getting the second seed in the West and then making it as the final team in the west doesnt really scream as "overachieving". We have a talented core and bunch that is relatively young and we are honestly a good PG away from making it to the WCF again next year
Lol Rockets are definitely contenders. Through and through. No ifs about it. It just so happens that we ran into a historical team in the WCF
