Brewer and Beverley are really good at cutting to the basket. But I do agree, we need more players on that bench that can create off the ball. I'd like to see Harden do this more often. Also would like to see Dwight roll to the hoop more. Bu I think this leads to an issue where Harden is FORCED to ISO because of the lack of off the ball movement. I don't know if its a lack of communication on the court, lack of accountability on McHale's part, or just pure stupidity or perhaps its too much run and gun. But guys like Ray Allen thrived because they were able to get an open look without the ball.

The play where Harden throws it blindly across court KNOWING someone is going to that spot is pretty nifty. Im always like 'damn, how'd he do that'

I've seen it too, but it's rarely effective. Most people don't notice it happening because, 80% of the time, it doesn't look like an actual play. They set and run through screens at half speed and the picks rarely free anyone up.

lars may be right - with time and chemistry, maybe this team adds secondary action. maybe the offense lives up to its potential. but right now, they don't run crisp set plays. A lot of the time, Harden is yelling directions at the screener while, on the other side of the court, the other players are having a discussion about what they should do.

You guys are going to laugh at me but would it be a terrible idea to try to pick up Luke Babbitt? He's had the best 3pt FG % in the league and I'm sure he'd be cheap. He's kind of like a more reliable and complete Troy Daniels.

I'm sick of seeing Harden's passes end up as bricked 3s.

Not a terrible idea. Remember, there was a time when Kyle Korver was considered a bit player. I think Atlanta traded Kirk Hinrich for him, essentially a backup PG.

Need the personnel for that too. Players need to recognise and run into position to help create those.

McHale & Morey wanted Dunleavy a few seasons ago and he's good for that.

There's also another thing those teams have in common...

    Very, very good coaches.

You are going to be extremely dissapointed when you realize McHale isnt the root of all the Rockets problems.

That's when someone will set a flare screen. Harden will throw it across the court and at the same time another player will set a screen on the player that is supposed to close out on the shooter.

That's how the shooter is so wide open. Most people don't even realize a screen was set and that it is a play designed to get a shooter an open look.
