Just a hunch. It literally could have been anything, but some of us thought we saw him get injured at one point during the game. Could be wrong. Hope we're wrong.
portland would be stupid to s&T with houston. we have nothing worthwhile to give them. they lose a top 5 pf, get a buncha role players in return. jones, dmo, capella and filer. they dont want ariza sicne they got plenty of perimter players in dame, cj, wes, affalo, batum. and hell no to barea. the only reason he's torching us is cuz he's going up against old pgs. but beverly on him and he'll get shut down.
People are trying to rationalize why Dwight was so ineffective last night after the first quarter. While seemingly overlooking the fact that almost everyone in a Rockets uniform was ineffective after the first quarter.
I do still love Lowry, and would probably ultimately take him if the Raptors wanted to move him (which I doubt they do), but I think in a perfect world you'd see the Rockets being better off going with a PG who can have a little more athleticism on the defensive end. I'm just not sure how Lowry is going to age on that end over the next few years. Offensively though, he'd be great. Just hope he doesn't lose his ability to finish in the paint which seems to get taken out of his game year after year a little bit more. I liked the bowling ball going to the rim in the open court Lowry we saw in Houston when he was coming off the bench backing up AB. Of course beggars can't be choosers. If Lowry becomes available this Summer I fully expect Morey to at least inquire. Because the PG situation in Houston obviously is an epic fail. It could very well be the difference in the 2nd round in advancing or getting blown out easily.
The pg situation is Morey's biggest failure this year. Everybody and their mother knew we needed an upgrade at that position, even over a seemingly healthy Bev, so when he went down for the season, a relatively weak position became weaker. I have had problems with Bev, but the dude could play one pest defender. I doubt very much we would be giving up back to back 120 points to a team. Finally, McHale will need to figured out something in the next rounds to mask pg play. Otherwise we can expect a swift exit.
Didn't have much lift in the 2nd half. Could have just been fatigue. Also thought I saw him drag his leg a couple times, not putting much weight on it while running.
Adding 2 + 2 Lowry seems like a perfect 4, or 7...at the 1. Including matching trade pieces (Papa Nick? Llull? #18? TJo? In some combo). What I think would be beneficial, in addition to the obvious on-court upgrade, is how KL & JH could ease each other's burdens over the 82 game grind. Raps will be blown up. Right? Conventional wisdom says so. Casey goes south. Who stays and who goes?
Truer words never spoken....er, written. I commend Morey for many things but his approach to the point guard situation is definitely not one of them. Obviously he's aware of the problem and will address it, the question being: how? If Llull isn't coming over, there are a couple dudes in the draft etc etc. Everyone says the point guard position now is a dime a dozen but why are we sucking on the dregs? Which doesn't fix the current team. Just a near-complete C.F. ("Charlie Foxtrot"; C.F. in this case doesn't mean "ClutchFans") at the 1. Terry's adrenaline ran out last night and he gave us a 37 year-old's game. Prigioni, same.
You may be right about 'No, thanks' but I see it as (almost) an inevitability. Potential trade pieces match, it seems to me, and Lowry and Harden could ease each other's burdens so well. Plus DM the GM loves to bring guys back and Uriji is ready to imprint the Raps in his own image. Just my opinion, yet I think it is as likely an off season acquisition as exists in TheToyShop.
