Dude.... NOBODY said that. The folks that knew Paps compared him to Battier for what his role would be for this team, and actually he showed to have much better play making skills than Battier driving the hoop and dishing (although turnover prone when doing so).

With Dorsey, the guy was one of the best defensive bigs in Europe... NOBODY said he would dominate over here like that given the size difference. Only thing anyone was confident about was that the guy could be a 3rd string NBA big who can rebound and play some decent defense in stretches.

Stop putting words in people mouth. The only people with outlandish expectations were the idiots that were rooting for Paps to fail for some crazy reason (I think folks were in love with Shaun Marion for the MLE, and got mad when "their guy" wasn't picked). It was insane how many people came out of the woodwork with no understanding of Kostas' contract, and how its actually an asset for the team. Then there were the other idiots who you would swear thought Joey Dorsey was making a max contract. The guy is getting paid THE MINIMUM to be the Rockets 3rd string center.

-The Clippers are paying Spencer Hawes 5+ mil for the next 3 years (basically their 3rd string center right now)
-Toronto is paying Chuck Hayes nearly 6 million this year (again 3rd string center)
-Cleveland is paying Haywood 2 mil
-Sacramento is paying Evans 1.7 mil
    etc. etc.

The Rockets are getting a bargain with Dorsey in reality, and next year when Capela is full time at the backup 5 for 3 more years on a rookie contract you will be thanking your lucky stars Morey chose to hold off on signing a big contract 3rd string center when it served the team better to hold off on spending money there in order to upgrade elsewhere on the roster.

Dorsey served his purpose for the team this year just as Morey planned to do so. Yeah he would rather have done better with a better player backing up Dwight, but there was a reason why the funds went to other upgrades on the roster when Morey opted for the dollar menu special for 3rd string center with Dorsey.

I think the timing of cyberx post is awful! Talking about trading some of our players during the playoffs is bad Joo-Joo in my opinion. There will be PLENTY of time to discuss next year's roster after our season is over! In June hopefully with a parade down Main St.

    GO ROCKETS!!!

When cyberx says someone wants to play for Houston/likes the team/likes the players

    He's lying!

When cyberx says someone doesn't want to play for Houston/doesn't like the team/doesn't like the players

    He's lying!

That wasn't his post. His post was scola will be here. And don't be surprised to see Aldridge here. Everyone else is coming up with hypothetical trades. So before you accuse someone of something you better read all the pages

Glad to see the cyberx minions come out to defend their idol!...;) First off, no one is accusing cyberx of anything! Because I DID read all the pages I was able to make TWO comments/statements in my post that had direct correlation with what I had read. These two statements were separated with a punctuation mark, an exclamation point (!) to be more precise.

1.) That cyberx brings info about the possibility of acquiring a player (Aldridge) at this time was not (IMHO) a good idea! I actually said awful timing. We should support our current roster at least until the playoffs are over!

2.) That bringing up players to trade/let go was a bad idea (bad joo-joo) during the playoffs and before the season is over with! I know who was discussing these hypothetical scenarios because I DID read the prior posts that were done after cyberx's initial comment!

The funny thing is that I received a fair amount of rep for my post, which leads me to believe that I'm not the only one who thinks we should discuss player movement at a future date/time.

    GO ROCKETS!!!

So we could theoretically be trotting out a rotation of

    Llull/Johnson
    Harden
    Brewer/McDaniels
    Aldridge/Smoove/
    Howard/Motiejunas

    Next year?

****. That doesn't sound like too bad of a squad.

Rockets will more likely pursue Love than LMA if they were going that route.

Ariza is our backcourt stopper and KJ/Brewer are not talented enough to fill that role. LMA is a neutral defender at best. I think his game is great on offense because his mid range shot is something he is elite at and no one but Harden is currently on our team. But I worry that an LMA trade would negatively impact our defense. I also don't know if Houston would maximize LMA's potential, sort of like Love is underutilized in Cleveland since the ball is often out of his hands.

And I agree with the other posters saying we should support our guys until we are actually in the offseason!!

Unlike last year’s pursuit of Melo, I think there’s greater risk of pursuing LMA this year. If the Rockets are going all-in, they better be 200% certain he’s coming. Last year, we only pissed off Lin and Asik, neither of whom were likely to stay regardless. But this season, LMA can potentially affect Ariza, Jones/DMo, Brewer, Josh Smith, Papa, etc. because the Rockets would have to gut the team for him.

I’m all for gutting the team for LMA. I think he’s worth it the max and releasing half our rotation. However, I don’t want another public pursuit for 2 weeks, trade/release everyone, only to have LMA decide on the Spurs. If LMA wants to take his time drawing things out, the Rockets have to be out.

Trading Ariza for LMA would be such a huge mistake.

Our D would fall off so bad.

I like getting the rumors and reports and all but feel it's a bit of a disservice as a fan to really entertain offseason moves that will surely move out players we are hopeful will win us a series tomorrow and later on this weekend. Kinda feel like it's a bad omen if that makes sense. Let's please table this and just root for the team tomm please?
