Maybe the deepest position in the NBA and Daryld Moreys settles on Sergio Lulz. Go cash in your assets. Curry Beverley/Lulz Conley Lillard Paul Parker Rondo Westbrook Hmm, which doesn't "belong"? Or move Harden to point guard, like he already is, and go get your 2 guard.
wow pretty big news to go from maybe bringing them over to now probably having him start next year. will be interesting to see
There is a salary cap and we have a lot of people to pay if you want to keep guys like Brewer/Smith etc... Getting an expensive (10 million +) PG is unlikely.
Does this mean Josh Smith and Corey Brewer are gone? I don't think there is a way to resign those guys with the midlevel being used fully on Sergio.
Not sure what to think about Lull, half of the poeple on the board think he is trash and the other half say he is better than Beverley in every way. His highlight video looked ok, alot of circus shots, not sure how he will fare in the NBA. He does look like he plays with fire which i like, lets hope he actually makes it over.
we have brewer's bird right so we can re-sign him smith is a little tough since he already got his money from detroit hope he can get us a big discount and sign the veteran minimum deal
Don't know how many time we have to say this, the MLE doesn't effect Brewer. Could mean Smith is gone though
Is there a scenario where we trade Sergio rights to another team, they sign him, and we move papa + filler to make it work?
This is my feeling as well. I think Surge will be very productive for the Rockets and add a lot of value to the team. Basically a cheaper Dragic. I expect the Rockets to take "best player available" in the draft. Maybe it is a PG, but maybe not. I expect the Rockets to try to keep Beverley but if his contract value goes too high (like to a bidder like Cuban) then Morey will let him leave
Kinda seems like the most likely candidate right now, and has some upside, but you have to think its a bit premature to know exactly what will transpire on draft night, and the start of free agency with trades. When the report came out a few days ago, to me it told me that while Morey was over there in Europe, he met with Sergio and his people, and mostly made a case as to why they should try to negotiate a contract this Summer. They most likely came up with the figure they got because that number is at the high end of what the Rockets could offer with their MLE. I doubt Morey would ever offer the number now because they don't even know if they are going to be operating over the cap or not. So what it sounds like is that Morey made the case for Llull to negotiate this Summer if the opportunity is there, but I would be shocked if Morey already made him promises because of the vast amount of better opportunities that could be available first draft night, or with free agency trades. Only thing that sounds logical is that they agree this is a good year to negotiate if the Rockets situation holds through July, and Pat Beverley either gets a bargain contract, or walks with an offer too large. Also there is a possibility both Bev and Llull are signed this Summer, and which in that case there is no way anyone will be penciled in as a starter. McHale isn't the type of coach that is going to allow that. Llull will still have to earn it.
We have early bird rights to Brewer, and we can pay Josh Smith 120% of his previous salary which is the biannual exception.
What I wish I clearly understood is how the Rox can retain Smith/Brewer/Bev + add 1/2 good pieces to be a legit contender over 82 + 16.
