I was surprised by that. I thought that Dmo would be the piece of interest. The reason, apparently, is that Dwight is not done. We want a strong front line come playoff time. If what Bull told me at the Suns/Rockets game is accurate, which he was very adamant about, Dwight is not close to microfracture land. DMo helps us keep up in his absence. Same with Josh. I don't know DM, but it appears like that kept him from blowing things up like other teams. We offered picks (one lucrative one), TJ, IC or PB, and Paps. We asked for Goran, Zoran (Brotherhood). Apparently, we were asked to take Gerald Green, which makes NO sense for the Suns. He has played well with consistent minutes. I watched him ball some of my guys up not too long ago. If only his head was right...his talent is incredible. That was the close to last package. It seems like Morey played hardball, but it really was Goran's agent DAMAGING his client. Goran will not run the show in Miami. He won't find his "brand," and he looks like a championship chaser, though Bosh and Wade are struggling. I think Goran will regret this, but possibly consider us in FA. I asked about his relationship with McHale, and as much as I think we are cheated as fans with McHale as our head coach, Goran does really connect with him (Brotherhood....they are tight) Goran credits Mc for giving him new life after leaving PHX in Nash's shadow. This is according to my PHX family. It helps when you get to sit court side and hear all of this ish. The Morris Twins...my goodness....they'd rather play for anyone but Horny.That makes me smile...for all of the Jazz years. I've spoke to him once...just in a practice. He's friendly, and I asked him if he remembers the Rockets rivalry. He said, "What rivalry?" I was done at that point. I think Morey made the right choice. I think Bev will recognize Pablo's trade as a wakeup call to play more efficiently on defense and choose a better shot selection. I'm a big Pat fan, but we were CLOSE to getting Aaron. The Rockets are fans. They've scouted him awhile, almost like they found KLow. He just has become a good player. I think he was a much better fit than Lawson, who needs the ball at all times. That wouldn't have worked well with James. Ay yi yi...what a day. I'm sorry to those of you that wanted Goran. I thought he was coming...Miami wasn't in the frame until late. Even if we weren't on that FAKE list, our offer was strong. Phoenix didn't bite...maybe because of his agent. I tend to think they were afraid of trading with a western rival. Can't say I blame them for that. Again, sorry guys. I don't know what Cyber has written, but this is about as upfront as you get from me. Codman, was there any deal or talks for Brandon Knight? Honestly, he was a more interesting prospect than Dragic was, in my opinion. I felt that if we could pair he and Harden, our back court would be set for the next 5-8 years. I think he compliments Harden better than Dragic and much younger. I was surprised he was moved today, even with the rumors the Bucks were looking for trades. Thanks, Cod!
He's wanted out for awhile. Kidd damaged his career. He struggles with JJ dominating shots. That locker room is almost as bad as Cold D Mile High. I would have loved Dwill to reunite with Dwight. Same with Alan Anderson. When Shannon Brown was here in the Desert, he'd come show some of our guys about elevating and taking contact without fear. He said his homie Alan was one of the few guys who had no fear of being ran over by anyone. We need that type of player to go along with Bev. Again, Brooklyn is in bad shape. Kev waived his no trade clause. He and Dwill were close and I think Dwill knows that he is on a sinking ship. What identity does that team have now that Garnett is gone? Everyone knows that KG IS the team's identity enforcer. Brooklyn is broken. Watch it happen. I don't know if they will Free Dwill, but he deserves a chance to play again. By play, I mean show that he can play though his pain. In a three-team trade, he would be an upgrade for us, even despite his cost. But, I don't know if Morey was ready to take the contract. I don't really know if we are "win now." When/If Dwight comes back, I definitely see that. Until then, we are waiting and hoping that James can carry us and that Josh can produce Dwight numbers.
Oh man...if D-Will gets bought out and we can snag him cheap that would be perfect. D-Will certainly isn't great anymore, but he wouldn't be a liability, and that's all we need. I won't get my hopes up, though.
Nice catch. Still, when i heard that we were going hard for Affalo, I was thrilled. Morey's so smart though. My goodness. Lawson was just a smoke screen, I think. I'm talking with J tomorrow to see what's up on his team. Obviously, he's depressed out there. I don't blame him. I'm biased though. That's my friend. We almost made a small trade to grab him before his injury. He's a Morey player. I'm biased...but he can hit the jumper, rebound, has size and isn't afraid to run Blake Griffin into the 4th row. :grin:
