By years I exagerated as I meant last year and this year. I was really liking what the likes of 76's and even what Utah have been doing with developing some really good kids. I'd be spewing if I were a 76's fan with the loss of mcdaniels and mcw. Complete loss of direction now.
Just on the whole Dragic scenario. Take the rose tinted glasses off for a minute. Maybe he had zero trust in houston given we traded him previously and he's been bitter about that. Can't blame him if that's the case. Also miami got his brother as well as goran. We're we also after both dragic's? I'm not upset we missed out, although we need a new pg. but I'm shocked with so many pg's traded we didn't get anyone.
this trade deadline is like when you see a big fat juicy burger advertised and then when it's time to actually buy it looks nothing like the picture.
We never traded Dragic. He chose to leave in free agency in order to obtain a player option on his contract.
Is he really supposed to this season? Add a fourth small forward into his rotation during the stretch run into the playoffs? For now, McDaniels is simply an asset on the end of the bench, just like Canaan. I mean, it's not like he's Alexey Shved!
I'm extremely disappointed by today, but as you know, the NBA operates in the realm of unpredictable decisions. ThundaD was even laughing at me and told me to get back to work, with our guys. Anyway, this is what I was told from reliable people. I live in Phoenix. I have a heavy ear here and direct communication with some voices in the Suns' org. I'm grateful, but it's a curse because we lost out on Dragic. It was all about BRANDING at first, but as you see, PHX played "nice guy" and send him to....well, those guys. Allegedly, there is not a true list from Goran. It was all of his agent. ALL of it. Goran really just wanted out of PHX. The entire team is already tired of Horny. Secondly, from my Colorado ears, Morey wanted Arron Affallo badly. More than Lawson. He was trying to make that happen today, apparently. He had an interest in JJ like last year, but he was unwilling to take on MCGee. That whole team wants to be far far away from Shaw. Brotherhood: That Brooklyn organization is in disarray. There was interest in KG reunited with McHale.....the wild card was Dwill. You may hate him, but Morey does not. He fits the mold of "new environment, new player." Morey explored that as well. The Raptors pieces were explored, but Ujiri didn't bite. We had interest in improving our depth. Brotherhood, you can see who that would be. Personally, I was hoping for Arron, but that's just my opinion towards improving our guard spot. Pablo is not what I thought would be sufficient. I feel like that was last minute. The only news that I've heard that made me smile was Dwight. We pushed hard at the PG spot because, once again, Dwight is said to be ahead of schedule. I shouldn't apologize for what went down today, as it was obviously out of my control. However, I did report, though cryptically like Doc, what I learned from my personal and professional relationships in the league. I apologize for what some of you thought were riddles. J-Smooth (Not Josh) says we'll like Pablo's energy and that's he's an underrated defender. I sent him an angry text to him today lol. Dwight is coming back, and Josh is holding it down. We will be going after two players that are being bought out in the next few days as insurance either way. It just didn't go as planned, but if Dragic wanted a brand, good luck, bro. Wow. He burned Phoenix. Management and a couple of guys in his meeting were not thrilled. Anyway, I'll disappear for a little while. Feel free to hate. I was just sharing what I heard from a few coaches, players and voices of a couple of decent agents. I'm lucky enough to hear the discussion. It's as simple as that. One love. Bring the pain if need be. Love ya'll. Cod
Thanks Codman, do you know if KJ is someone Morey had his eye on or was that also a last minute deal?
Wow thanks for posting man. Don't let people get to you on here. There's alpt of us that greatl appreciate the info that you give us! Very happy to hear about D12 that's huge! Any chance DWill gets bought out?
I really don't think Hinkie ever intended to build through the draft. He's just stockpiling assets waiting for the next superstar to shake-loose (and he's doing a GREAT job of that).
Good stuff, Codman Dwight being ahead of schedule is better than any trade, and if he's healthy, we at least have a shot. That's the best news of the day. Not sure if you're able to say, but any word on who the 2 guys being bought out would be?
