Prigioni was signed while Lin was a free agent. The Knicks also went out to get Kidd & Felton when Lin was left unsigned. With Felton telling a tv news crew from his hometown Lin was done as a Knick. Yet, the Rockets allowed themselves to be played by Lin and his agent to up that offer.
Maybe this thread can die now. It had great life in it, but it's time to go to sleep. May it never be bumped again. Here's to the next cyber thread in the summer!
For a pure rebuilding team you want them to push all their playing time to an elder player? What's with all the knee-jerk reactions? I saw someone ready to give up D-Mo for Brandon Knight.... (plus a bunch of other things..) If I were them, I'd take the Ennis/Carter-Williams in that deal too. Morey giving up 3 second rounders sounds to me like he does not like how deep this draft is going to be. Until Morey came along, most of us probably thought 2nd round picks are trash picks. 1 year contract for the most part with little to no chance of success. A draft probably needs to be deep for those to be valuable. Getting players to either 1) clear up money or 2) slight improvement in the team's eyes sound pretty important to me. Dragic was not coming anyways and there is no reason for us to trade for him. I think Phoenix took the hint and traded him to one of the teams in his list. 2 first round picks is insane for that trade.... The Isaiah Thomas trade is interesting, but he is a ball dominant player that resembles Steve Francis in every way in terms of dribble dribble drive.. back up.. dribble drive.. dish/shoot. Watch how he plays and see how he fits us.... Besides, the three team deal means Phoenix stocks another 1st rounder in 2016. It's obvious that they are giving up their playoffs run to stock up picks for the future. Thomas is signed to a pretty decent sized deal. do you really want to give up higher picks for that? Augustin going to Thunder, so they give up on Reggie Jackson. Sound like swapping players who are unhappy with their current situation and went to another place where they do the exact same thing. Jackson has some starter potential, so they need him for THIS YEAR until Jennings comes back. There's no reason to just throw out people and picks to get these players. This team can compete and will do so if Dwight comes back healthy. The team as a whole, if healthy, is better than what they are showing now with Jones/DMo/Dwight/Josh all playing minutes. A sharp shooting point guard that can handle the ball is very welcomed in this offense in the second team. Until I see them play, however, what point is there to pass judgment? Hilarious watching these doom sayers
Everyone else that wants to can make excuses, but I still don't see the help to take the load off of Harden for scoring. To me, it seems like our goal is second round of playoffs hopefully, but not that we can win it all this year. Howard would really have to be the real SUPERMAN and Harden would have to be the real GREEN LANTERN for us to win it all this year...for four long series. It CAN happen, but probably won't because Harden will be wore down by the time the playoffs gets here as he will probably have to continue to carry the load and bail us out of games just to HOPEFULLY get a top 4 seed this year. I like Morey, he got us Harden and Howard. But if we over achieve this year, it will be because those two play the best that they ever have at the same time. I think we could have made some moves to balance our team out more that would have given us a much better chance this year. I'm really sick about hearing about 2016. Flexibility is fine, but sometimes you have to try to win NOW.

No wonder cyberx ducked out of this thread early. He didn't be around to deliver the news we were getting Pablo haha!
If those are the simple simon stats you need to help yourself feel better about this trade and sleep better at night knowing we made a splash then more power to you, duuuuuuuuuuuude.

He didn't know about it one bit and honestly not his fault. Morey has a hundred trades lined up and one may pan out. That is why I find it tough to believe people who come in here and say "oh we are trading for X, Y or Z by this date" No one knew of Pablo and KJ just like Terry before or Hamilton last deadline
This past year is pretty solid proof that cyberx is the only dude even remotely worth paying attention to.
Well that's all folks. Lock it up, finally. I'm done with this thread. Here's to the rest of the season. Go Rockets!
