As far as I know, Dragic cannot ink a long term deal upon his arrival. He signed a 4 yr deal (with 4th yr being player option) in 2012. So, the earliest that he can ink a contract extension is 3 years after the start of the contract-- a year from now. And rather than doing that Dragic is likely better off just opting out and inking a new deal.

I want to doubt Drew but I'm finding it harder to doubt him.

If he is such a troll, why would he go all in now? Unless he is tired of it and wants to go out with a bang, I would keep stringing people along if I was in his position. If he strikes out, there will be no more weight in his word.

That's why I'm starting to believe. I find it hard someone is this confident if he doesn't know something.

Maybe it's just my optimism for the Rockets that is adding to the belief though. It certainly makes an interesting offseason.

 

So that would mean that CyberX(SI) comes in last minute, and steals his thunder?

 

I really hope Dragon comes back. He's definitely the third star we need. If you don't think he's a star (notice I didn't say superstar) just compare his numbers to Kyrie.

 

I'm not optimistic. I haven't seen any evidence from any outside source of something going down today.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The only thing I can think of is perhaps he's already discussed terms of an extension and will sign it at the appropriate time. Or perhaps he's expressed his willingness to sign here long-term after he opts out next summer.

 

Assuming we have to give up T Jones, are there any PFs still available worth the MLE?
