I read that rumor of his as: A) The Lakers don't think that they will be players for Dragic in the near futuree B) That was about as good of a package that the Lakers could currently offer. It's not like the guy was advocating that trade rumor, just reporting something he heard. I thought that it was interesting insight.
It's stupid. Cyberx, Doc and Codman provide information for nothing and risk their professional lives and relationships. Moreover, they can see what you're saying in response. It's different than a for-profit journalist being fed agendas to leak. No one gains value from the "analysis" of the insider other than the poster's own inflated ego.
