Goran to Sacramento? Will Goran actually stay in Sacramento? If not, hard to see how SAC view him as being of major value to them as a rental.
As I understand it the meeting is with the agent(s) and the FO, not GD. Thus, those appeals are likely to fall on the deafest of ears.
lol wut. Kings can get something better than that considering they have 0 pressure to trade cousins. Suns are delusional as ***
Disagree all you want. AD is the most untradeable player in the league and is not worth to even consider in a trade scenario.
no way dragic resigns with the kings.... they are officially tanking if they go through with that trade...
Goran isn't on the verge of going to the HOF or anything. Winning chips is nice, being in the playoffs is nice, but the far and away leading factor in his free agency decision will be money money money money... money! As it should be!
You will never get equal value for a star like Boogie, this does seem like the most they could expect to get though.
Desperation. Not going to happen right now with Cousins. We'll have to wait and see what becomes of the Karl/Cousins relationship. Kings won't budge on Cousins right now. Simply not going to happen.
I'd love to flip Trevor Ariza and spare parts for Kevin Durant, perhaps we should hold out hope for that. I get Phoenix's "attempt", but honestly, their long-term interest in Cousins would be better suited by making the deal with HOU (or anyone else offering a lottery pick and prospects). If SAC ever decides to move Cousins, and I have my doubts, why would they do it for a 29-year-old, good-but-not-elite PG on a max deal? Makes no sense -- basically a mediocrity treadmill move. If SAC ever moves him, and I definitely don't think it's at this year's deadline, it would be admission of a "rebuild" and they'd be after high picks, prospects -- basically as many high-upside assets as possible. Dragic is pointless for their situation. (And if in some bizarro world the Kings actually become open to dealing Cousins in the next 24 hours, I'm pretty sure a Dragic-centered deal would be nowhere close to the top of their list. For starters, D-Mo and the NOP pick would be way more attractive.)
IF (they wont) the kings make that trade then Goran would most likely NOT sign an extension if he wants to win.
Despite being disgruntled & having a stupid FO.. The Kings know that Cousins is one of the best talents in the league? Right..?
if the suns do not budge I am sure Morey has other offers and options to get that second play maker for the team. I am sure the Suns can be made aware of this as well as needed because as things are its hard to see another team offer as much as the Rockets would for a PG Teams that do not need a PG: warriors, thunder, portland, clippers, mavs, spurs, wolves, grizzlies, pels, jazz (they have exum to develop), nuggets, raptors, hawks, wizards, bulls, cavs, bucks, hornets, pistons, boston, magic, 76ers, nets that leaves teams that need a pg: rockets, kings, lakers, knicks, heat teams unsure: pacers - hill is a good PG but i have no idea what direction that team is headed in once George is back next season. Dragic is an upgrade over hill but not as huge of an upgrade as opposed to the 5 teams listed above. so those 5 teams heat - they have some assets but they are struggling in the east getting dragic would help them but for how long? do they want to invest in him knowing Wade is almost done and with the deals both Wade and Bosh have they'll have major money locked up in a team that probably wont win it all. Arison got cheap with the team when they were winning rings - doubt he wants to shell out for a team that wont. Knicks - uhm they can offer money in the offseason but nothing to trade right now Lakers - few assets and its in suns interest to trade to LA so they get that lotto pick for sure Dragic would help them win a few more games this season but LA will want to hold onto that pick desperately. Also there is no enticing players on the Lakers roster outside of Randle and the Lakers will not give up Randle. Hard to see a trade happening here especially if LA has to give up another future first (even if its the Houston pick) since they need all the picks they can get in their rebuilding phase Kings - they have collison who is a good PG but Dragic is better. They gave Collison a good deal so I am not sure they really want to spend on dragic. That kings FO is a mess though and while I think a coach like Karl can be good for Dragic i think Karl is going to first stand pat and see what he can do with the roster as is and trying to shake things up with a new coach so close to the deadline i dont think will happen. that leaves the Rockets they need an upgrade over Beverley who is a great energy spark but the need for another play maker is greater in the backcourt. Greater is the need for a more legit backup SG - dragic can play both positions and there can be bev/dragic lineups that still have good defense in the backcourt and a playmaking guard to give harden the most rest. Morey is willing to give up stuff to get Dragic. Bottom line - the most likely competition for Dragic is the Heat and there has been nothing to indicate the heat are interest so far. The lakers may be the biggest threat but their basket is empty pretty much and if they want to keep their high pick its probably better that Dragic isnt on their team. the market just isnt there for PGs there are so many of them the Suns can ask for the farm to start with but in the end they know they'll have to take whatever they can.
A rental of Dragic, Len, Goodwin Ennis and the LAL and Suns pick is "the most they could expect"? C'mon, Boogie is one of the best young big men in the game, they'd get WAY more than that if they put him on the market.
Don't understand how Sac would take back Dragic with NO GUARANTEE he resigns with you this summer. That my friends is called Unfiltered r****dation. Trade you franchise player for someone that could leave in 3 months
I think the Suns miscalculated on the ball handling distribution would work with all three of them but even before that, they misjudged the trade markets for both Bledsoe and Dragic. If a team is going to add an additional point guard to their roster and use him in small ball lineups, they aren't going to pay that guard like he's a starter and give you really good assets for him. That leaves you to find teams who need a point guard upgrade who would also be willing to part with assets (i.e. believe they are both playoff bound/contender and won't have the capspace or draft position to upgrade otherwise). No one else besides the Rockets have emerged into that category (which should tell you how important the PG position is and how amazing the Rockets have been this season without one). So, the Rockets remain the primary trading partner as no other contender currently views Dragic as an upgrade to their current PG situation. The biggest worry now is not whether the price of a trade will come down from but will pride on the part of the Suns get in the way.
