And I wish Hakeem had some sort of anti-aging gene in his body so he could still be playing today! Lol
Bledsoe hasn't proved that he can stay a whole season healthy and not lose any games. Plus to be so injury prone at such a young age with so much reliance on athleticism doesn't bode well for your future longevity.
They'll pay Dragic, but only if they can move Thomas first. There's no way they can have close to 40 mil a season locked up in 3 PGs.
It's actually not a safe assumption because Dragic isn't currently happy in Phoenix. He wants to play the PG and he's forced to play SF and SG, in fact, he's said that if that doesn't change, he's gone. If he wants to play PG again, he'll have to do that on another team because Phoenix won't trade Bledsoe. If he takes the max (which, let's be real, Phoenix is WAY too cheap to offer him) he'd be saying the only thing that matters to him is money. It's not a safe assumption that is the case.
LOL, one is possible (although not likely) and one is impossible. But you never know. With the right package and other players in the deal, maybe Phoenix would value defense over offense. (If they still think Bev is a great defender) But I know, I did say I WISH.
I agree man. I think he is gone. The only question is to who, and if to us can we get him without paying to much for our tastes.
I would think Goran saying that he will not accept a penny less than the max makes his trade value lower because he is a very good player, but not an elite player. Last year was more of an outlier than anything. He was not anywhere near that good before last year and this year his is back around the production that he typically gives. He is a great fit next to Harden in particular, but paying him 20 million a year is absurd money given his overall body of work.
He was pretty happy last year with Bledsoe. If he isn't happy because of IT as i said problem can be solved in 5 minutes. IF the Suns value him to the max. Phoenix is cheap but ...their owner is also a clown who likes to rise the crowd. If they trade Dragic the fans will riot They are still in the POs after all. Do you think that the fans can understand the situation easily? All they will see is their team trading the only star who is a fan favourite for peanuts and drop out of the playoffs.
I also highly doubt the Suns pay Dragic. They have decided that Bledsoe is their PG of the future, he's younger then Goran, more athletic and a better defender. Arguably a better player all round, and he is locked in for 5 years. That's that. And they had a really hard time committing to pay Bledsoe his mini max, can't imagine them willing to pay Dragic's 20 mill full max, especially with Bledsoe manning gun. They gotta trade him or be prepared to drop him for nothing. As for Dragic resigning with us, again yeah it's where his priorities are. But lets be real, we're the best shot at a title he has, he's comfortable with Houston and McHale, we can offer a full max and he has our starting PG position all to him self. What more would he ask for? Personally even though we can offer the full max I doubt his price goes that high, with all the other factors we have, plus no state tax.
I agree. This makes a lot of rational sense. They need to look at themselves like we were 3 years ago when we were building on Harden, Parsons and Lin (at least the promise of lin). They need to find a way to attract free agents and the way they're going to do it is by selling their young, exciting core group of players that FAs can build something exciting with. They're not going to do that by locking a 29 year old PG into a long term max deal. But the truth is, Dragic has been their best player in a bit, and he's a really good, likeable guy that has a lot of history with the org. It's not an easy thing to part with a dude like that.
aha..I understand now where thsi misconception comes from. Dragic you see has ALREADY a market as a max player. It includes at least two teams possibly one more. These teams will offer him the max first day they are able to. So with that as given every other team who wants his services will have to pay the max or very near PLUS as an advantage 5 years. Also your other misconception comes from the fact that you think that 20 million per is an absurd contract for Dragic. The cap will rise to 90. 20 will be given to max rookies on their 5th year.
I'm hopeful, not optimistic. See: BoshcommaChris; GasolcommaPau; and many in between. Don't hear the Fat Lady singing' yet?!! Dying? Reportedly. I mean, who believes anything ever, especially THIS week. Dwight had choices. Including staying and effecting the coaching choice and several teams. BTW - - Lawson gets traded. Price? Taking McGee. Keep an eye on northern CA. Just saying'; and just saying': IT gets traded? Look to Boston.
yup. They are very aware of this. And that's why they will take back DMO. I can't wait to see what Harden can do next to Dragic though.
