FWIW, the reason I asked was because someone I know in Phoenix said he has been fairly steadfast in his radio commentary that he believes Dragic is leaving. From my experience, Gambo is as good as it gets for inside info from the PHX teams. If something breaks on their end, he's my bet on the guy to break it.
yup. Like the variable that he is the perfect fit next to the superstar of a team contending for championship . Like the variable that the only opportunity to add him is only via trade. Like the variable that Dragic in FA will have many suitors. So yeah.
Insiders on this site are like super saiyans and dragon ball z. It took time to get one, now every ****ing person has yellow hair by the age of 8.
It's that last variable that drastically lowers his price Length of contract matters a lot, they wouldn't even be considering trading him if not for that.
Not really. It makes better the chances of Phoenix for a s+t or a trade later on. Rockets are not the only market for Dragic.
No one gets anything of value except trade exceptions and maybe some late 2nd rounder for doing sign and trades anymore. And there's no reason for a team with cap space to even do that. There really isn't a trade market for Dragic at all, it's in the Lakers best interest for him to not be traded, and they're the major player, most teams are set at point guard.
this Phoenix isnt in a position to ask for the world for Dragic, he can leave in the summer. Does Morey want him? I am sure he does but he isnt the only PG he wants i am SURE of that as well. If phoenix doesnt trade him, he will go to whatever team throws him the most money and it wont be the Suns.
I suggest you take a look at the FA class of 2015. Noone except perhaps a remot possibillity of Millsap will sign in the big teams. All the other FA are restricted/ will take the QO. LA, Miami and NY are desperate for a big name pg. Soyeah.. there is incentive. When your cap space is suddendly LESS precious and when noone wants to come play with your washed up stars.
why not? Suns can pay him for 5 years. Suns are way more in power than you think. I swear some people here believe that Dragic will be traded for only Kpap and Jones. lmao.
Why would Dragic return to a team who will still have 3 pg? lol Obviously Dragic is unhappy or he wouldnt be in trade rumors, Suns can try to pay him whatever they want he'll be a UFA they cant do chit if he wants to leave. Whats funnier is the Suns think they can get Dmo for a guy who will potentially walk on the in the summer anyways. lmao
You're getting away from what you were saying. You were stating the Rockets needed to pay more for Dragic than what the Mavs paid for Rondo in a trade. Simply not true when looking at other teams possible assets to offer. NYK is not going to offer their pick this year for him.
You're saying LA and NY want a pg and they have a ton of cap space, and you don't get why that would impact the price on a guy with 30 games + playoffs left on his contract?
Spurs could send Danny Green, Kyle Anderson, and their #1 pick......just say'n. Rondo doesn't really set the market for Dragic right now. It's a matter of a team wanting Dragic that didn't want Rondo.
If the Suns wanted to pay Goran, they wouldn't have let the situation come to this. They didn't wanna pay Bledsoe but finally caved. Goran doesn't have to put up with it as a UFA.
So the Spurs are going to trade away their starting SG for a guy who doesn't like playing SG, can't defend the position and wants a max contract? Perhaps the martian invaders will trade their draft pick as well.
$$$$ + 5 years instead of 4 + promise to get rid of the midget But of course. There are more teams that are interested for Dragic => his bird rights become more valuable. If for example LA could get his bird rights with an offer of Jordan hill + Houston pick (beats the Rockets one) then they would be the ultimate winners. Wrong. They want to pay Goran but HE refuses to commit to anyone. Why? Because he is smart. Good for him. Raise your value boy!
So, is Gogi about winning? Or is he about maximizing his next contract? If the answer is the latter, the meeting today with his people and the Suns brass is to find out: (1) are the suns willing to give him the contract that he wants when he opts out and/or (2) are they willing to create the conditions for him to be able to maximize his value when he opts out? They want the conditions that allowed him to be a 20 points / 6 assists guy instead of a 16 points / 4 assists guy. TBH, the Lakers give him the best chance of increasing his role, inflating his stats and inflating his UFA contract numbers. Obviously it depends on what they have to offer Phoenix in a trade.
so you think the Suns will trade Goran for Jones who has the worst year of his carreer is totally useless for the Suns with what they have in their roster and just had an almost career ending injury plus the NYK 2nd rounder plus useless filler? Why don't you tell us what you see Dragic getting traded for?
