In 10 hours, we'll know if we're getting Dragic or not.

I just hope our backup plan looks more like Ty Lawson or Isaiah Thomas than Luke Ridnour.

We also really need an upgrade at backup C. I love Dorsey as a lockerroom guy, but with Dwight's health up and down, we need someone else.

Oh this is nothing, just wait if nothing gets done until the deadline...

This is nothing compared to around that time or every offseason too and now with the longer break we don't even have games to distract us from.

In legit can't figure out why people are scared of paying dragic say 15mill.

If we don't play him, we could potentially be stuck paying bev 7-9mill instead.

I couldn't reall follow all the crazy stuff leading up to today here. Can anyone bring me up to date? Did Cyberex or any other insider that people trust say anything interesting? Is Dragic still just a wish or is there anything linking him to us? Isaiah Thomas? Or any of the other names - is that just fantalk or did any insider say anything about them?

cyberx said next week will be fun. He also went on to say Morey wishes that he had signed Lowry. That's all that I am aware of.

There are now reports that Ty Lawson is very available... after reports it would take a King's ransom to get him yesterday. I suspect he is available with a higher asking price than Dragic. He has had legal problems, but has not really had any recent ankle issues and is signed to a team friendly contract. Talent wise he is in the same ballpark as Dragic. His one on one defense isn't good but the effort is there.

Also now reports that good chance Dragic is available but his lack of commitment to whatever team signs him is making his trade value limited.

This are not insider reports... All readily available on the more popular sites that gather the reports.

A lot of posturing going on, especially by the teams with very good to borderline all star players that may be moved.... Everyone wants leverage in any trade discussions.

Let's say Dragic does go for the money and get a 17-18M per year deal next offseason.

How much can we really say that he's such a good value in that case? He's just on the books for cheap the remainder of this year, but after that we would lose him or become hamstrung by him, I don't care what the new cap is.

A contract like Ty Lawson's or Rubio's does not look nearly as bad now.

Ty Lawson is a good replacement for him. Rubio's contract is better, but his poor shooting and even worse finishing around the basket makes him a poor fit for us.

To a point how much Dragic gets on his deal does not matter to the Rockets as much as it would have in the past. The theory being that the base of Harden/Howard/Dragic would all be locked into place.

Personally I would rather give him 4 years at the max than 5 at 80% of the max. I don't think that 4th and 5th year are going to be pretty.

If the Lakers offer Dragic 20M. What is the tax reduced equivalent from Houston?

Well said and good post. You gotta love the knee jerk mentality in here at times LOL. Dwight with just one leg is still the biggest presence in the league on the defensive side of the ball.

We want a PG that can create his own shot and set up Howard for dunks and the rest of the team for open 3's. We need to give Harden the chance to rest some. He is carrying this team HARD on nearly every possession. Watch when he is out or when the ball is in Jet/Beverley's hands. The penetration isn't as effective.

Switch Lawson and Dragic from Suns/Nuggets and you'd see Dragic average 8 assists and Lawson's would drop some. Suns have the PG sharing the load this year look at what Dragic did last year without IT&EB for most of the year. However Lawson does make very good passes.

I'm leaning more towards Lawson as well. he has what we are looking for at a better price.

Dragic will follow the money and...... I don't blame him. Who would? Not trying to give up assets for a guy who will end up gone.

Boston might jack up the price for lawson though

Getting a point guard is going to hurt, but has to be done.

I am feeling a bit more pessimistic about Goran being traded to us. The Suns are desperate to get a big, but if they can't, I think they will go all out to make it to the playoffs.

They don't have to trade Goran, because they can offer him the most money at the beginning of the new season, if he opts out as expected. They can also try and move him in a sign and trade before the 2015-16 season starts.

Good point about the sign and trade option, but I don't see Dragic willfully resigning with the Suns as long as IT and Bledsoe are there.

I don't think the chances of us retaining Dragic after this season are high, so I'm praying Morey doesn't trade DMo. On the other hand, I think Dragic with a healthy Howard makes us a contender, so it's worth a draft pick in my opinion. Hopefully that's good enough to get it done.

Dragic is a far better fit for this team than a guy like Lawson. Dragic can play off the ball, which is important with Harden.
