Looking at IT, Dragic, Brooks, Lawson numbers per 100 possessions results in some interesting facts that you Charles Barkley school of GM guys are not gonna like. I choose those guys bc they are the current guys being talked about. For the record I have always LOVED Dragic's game. I knew Morey fleeced the Suns the when we got him. So I want Dragic back (not at the expense of D-Mo). I'd take Lawson if the price isn't too steep. I know Thomas's defense isn't Dragic's but offensively has been and is really good. If Thomas can be had at a bargain then I bet Morey takes him. Here is why. #1 Harden NEEDS a break. Did you watch the Portland series last year? Can't have him spent. If I were McHale I would have already been going Pops and playing Canaan for 8 minutes a game to rest Harden. #2 Thomas numbers are as good and some are slight better per 100 or 36 than Dragic. Noticeably are the assist are 7.2 for IT to 6.0 for Dragic (stop with the doesn't pass the ball lies). FTA are big, IT at 8.9 compared to 3.7 for Dragic this season plus his percentage is equal to Hardens. No doubt numbers would change depending on team and role played. But the point is Thomas is better than most people think and he is exactly what our offense likes, 3 points 39%, drawing fouls and MAKING FT. Thomas actually has Dragic in those numbers in spades this season. Dragic is a great finisher and better D. #3 Morey said this MVP season can't be wasted. We can always trade him next year. So length of contract is not a real issue since Thomas is a bargain the next two seasons with the cap going up. #4 Lastly Thomas should not cost us more than draft pick(s) and filler. This would allow Morey to get a decent big to replace Dorsey if he desires. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/t/thomais02.html http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/dragigo01.html http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/brookaa01.html http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/l/lawsoty01.html Brooks is have a great season.
I'm thinking you just have to be on the site for a certain amount of time to be able to rep. I can give rep and I am not a contributing member (even though i gave a measly $7 once, well worth it for how much time I spend here).
That's not a bad trade. I'm not sure PHX wants TJones, and I don't think the Rockets would want to include him (given his low value right now). Bottom line, I don't see the Rockets giving up any rotation players for Dragic unless there's a 3rd team involved.
You're right! Lol Idk why we are looking for a PG anymore then! We have the most skilled PG in the NBA! Bevs is a champ now!!! Everyone loves a champ! Ftw! Give Bevs the 20 mil Dragic is gonna ask for! Lol #TacoBellSkillsChallengeMatters
I was able to rep after donating and not before so I'm assuming it comes with the contributing status.
We have enough small-mid money deals combined with assets to make some great depth moves without giving up our lottery pick. Something like Terry, Pap, NYK 2nd, DEN 2nd to Phoenix for Isaiah Thomas and Brandan Wright... then Afflalo, Green for Shved, Capela, Canaan. Gives us incredible depth and our lottery pick to mess around with in the summer.
Looks like Toronto is trying to make a push for David West. Dangling Ross and Valanciunas. Ross' value is low. Buy low. Maybe Morey will kick the tires.
WHAT?!?!!?!?!?!??!!?!? WTF Reggie freaking Jackson? OMG What I'm doing here. I'm going to the Bucks forum to have a heartattack.
I tend to agree with your interpretation. IT is such a one-dimensional move....he solves your immediate need for a scorer off the bench. Trading for Dragic is not only the better fit now, but his contract situation gives the Rockets options they wouldn't have with IT.
I was shocked you hadn't already seen that. I was surprised they'd be interested in Jackson considering they look ok at the PG spot.
Who the hell I their right mind would trade Valanciunas for David West?!?? Pacers should jump all over that if true.
How much would it take to acquire IT + a center? How much would it take to acquire just Dragic? Also, do you guys really think we would have to attach assets in order to unload IT in the future? I do not see him as having negative value and with the rising cap and his declining pay structure, I see him becoming more of a positive value asset. I obviously would prefer Dragic, but the idea of IT plus a center is very tempting.
Don't worry bud, you can come back to the Rockets once Knight joins us. I know you aren't fond of him, but I think he will do well here.
The cost for talent would sky rocket if that's the case. There has to be more to that deal, Ujuri already said he wasn't doing a go for it move unless it really was the difference in getting the Raps over the top. Plus Ujuri is like Morey, he doesn't usually take the business end of deals.
