Arsen Ilyasov is his real name and he is 2 years older than his reported age. Or so the rumours go. When he plays bad we call him Arsen and when he plays well back to Ersan.
I made a couple of posts and I do not see them. Is my account activated yet? Can anyone see my posts admins, mods, posters.
Ersan makes no sense for Houston. We already have a log jam at the 4. I get it maybe if he plays backup C.
Lot of people talk about Ilyasova's age. Many young guys basketball players move from Arzebaijan (and Uzbekistan) to Turkey and become 3 years younger. But I don't believe Ersan is one of them.
Today, Morey favorited a tweet to him that said "I believe in @dmorey #DragicToHouston" I can't find it anymore, but perhaps it's still there. I know this is pretty meaningless, but maybe Morey has confidence that he can land him.
the magical spring of youth  Don't know if they still do it because the teams are now aware. China has peaked this up. Basically add 2-3 years to every new chinese player who is heralded prospect and they push to join the nba. Biyombo also reportedly is older than his real age.
Can anybody tell me why the Lakers would risk a top 4 pick for Dragic this season? He would probably win them enough games to have to forfeit a top 4 pick. It smells like leverage against the Rockets to me
Jim Buss. He's losing the confidence of the fans, his sister, and the organization. He could be desperate.
It is stupid and the only way it makes sense it is because they believe that whoever trades for Dragic NOW (= the Rockets, as far we know it is a two teams race) will give him the max in the summer. So basically they are forced to trade for him now even if it means losing their pick . max with bird rights > max without bird rights. It shows how much they want him .
I'd rather have a top 4 pick on a quarter the salary for the next 4 years. Not to mention whatever assets they need to give up for Dragic(likely a 1st rounder). It only makes sense if they sit him for the rest of this season, which is unlikely. Top 4 picks get Superstars. Love is the most recent example. On a side note, I really think Morey is cooking up something with Brooklyn. It is suspect to me that as soon as Morey got involved in the Lopez talks, all deals died immediately.
It is a gamble. They will give their first to Suns anyway. Their offer would probably be Houston 1st + Hill or smth like that. It just multiplies the chances the Suns receive a top 6-7 pick. Lakers prefer to take their star now for cheap price and hope they jump ahead in the lottery anyway. At least this to me is the ONLY explanation as to why would the Lakers want to trade for him. It seems they are certain Morey will pay Dragic the max.
