Find the next James Harden perhaps, or Kevin Durant. Send me three first for the kid in Milwakee. Send some more for an upcoming player like Jimmy Butler. They are out there.
DMo doesn't take the pressure off of Harden. We need another wing to do so and DMo is our best trade chip along with the 1st. DMo isn't athletically gifted enough to just be dominant in today's league. Did you see him try and score on DJ? Did you see him try and box out DJ? Yes Deandre Jordan is a bad example, but the truth is that he struggles against the bigger post players.
Not only that, but if you saw what was going on off-ball, they were doubling him every time in the post to take him out of the game and ensure he didn't get the ball down low. That's quite a bit of respect for a young big.
thats nop problem now haha. but a top defensive big and double double machine when houston got him and there were plenty of doubters on his signing in the beginning.
They were double teaming him off the ball to ensure he didn't get it because when he got it in the post he scored on almost every possession. Did you watch the game?
When was this? Because I saw DJ return to sender on one attempt and him not give up an inch on a back down attempt.
Whoever repped me with the "Patterson doesn't play good defense"! I respectfully disagree. I think PNR defense via BIG is the best quality a big can have. Watch over last nights game, because that is why the Clippers slow down Harden. DJ can really move them hips for a giant.
I agree, he did not do well against DJ. But exactly how many teams have DJ on their team? And if we had someone other than Dorsey we might have been able to exploit Hawes. Also DMO has gotten stronger every single year. This is his first year starting. Imagine the bulk he will be able to put in three years (DJ is two years older). Saying DMO isn't athletic enough to be dominant in the league is completely asinine. His game doesn't rely on athleticism AT ALL and should only become more skilled. Look at Pau Gasol ffs. Dude is having his best season and he is 34.
DMo is not a deal breaker end of story he is the worst power forward in the top 8 playoff teams in the west... OCK/Pelicans with the 8th seed and Morris and DMo are equal at best. I love Dmo and yes he improved a great deal but any numbers guy knows you trade when your stock is at it's highest and DMO peaked this season
gasol has similiar problems not being able to back down other big C's, but he has a midrange jumper to go to.
dont need to. DJ guarded Dmo straight up, and he couldn't get anything going against him. as stated earlier Dmo struggles against stronger bigs in the league as of right now.
West PF's Aldridge Griffin Duncan Dirk Green Morris Ibaka Favors ZBO Faried Where does D-Mo realistically rank on that list of Western Power Forwards?
He may be the worst PF of the top 8 teams in the WC but that is more a reflection of how great some of the other PF's are and in many cases elite. - Green (Good to great - DMo has a case of beign at least equal to Green) - ZBo - Great - Griffin - Elite - LMA - Elite - Dirk - great formerly elite - Duncan - great formerly elite - Ibaka - great (I assume OKC will finish in the top 8) We have the best SG and a top 3 C. You can't be great in all positions. DMo is adequate right now. A bigger need would be a better PG than Bev. Would you like to upgrade from DMo? Sure but how many upgrades are there?
If a significant trade is there to be made, one or more of the following three will be included in the deal: 1. Jason Terry (Something tells me that he will stay with the roster ala.Garcia; and the two stars value his playoff experience. Dont think the JET gets traded. ***Unless the Rockets are in the market for a sharp shooter: Ray Allen???) 2. Kostas Papanikolau (Kostas is an offseason away from being an excellent rotation player. I expect him to drastically improve his shot by next season. The guy is a very high IQ player who has great court awareness/and understands floor spacing. Sucks that his lack of PT is a result of the numbers game, but every time he plays...good things happen. Unfortunately, he seems to be a prime candidate for trades.) 3. Trevor Ariza This would be a shocker for Rockets fans because he has instantly shown his value to this team, but you never know. Since everyone has clamored for Dragic as a possible trade deadline deal, the Rockets have to decide on who goes. Right now, it seems Kostas may be the odd man out.
