Wow now that is a terrible deal for the Thunder and damn good for the nuggets. Also to good for the Rockets
I'd take IT and PLUM for Dorsey + Papa aka take the IT's contract off their hands. He's far from ideal but could be some instant O off the bench and dont think would be that difficult to move in the future (good stats and salary goes down the length of it).
IT would provide instant offense off the bench. Could keep the scoreboard moving while Harden sits. That said, his contract isn't good, and he'll only really be effective when Harden sits. Is he and his contract worth it for the 10mins he'll give you while Harden is off the floor? I think not. For that reason ALONE, I'd say no.
I would love to have Brandon Knight or TY Lawson on the Rockets they will tremendously make us better!
Can somebody tell me why anybody pays basketballholic any attention? WTF has he predicted that has come close to fruition?
Now that he's stopped being a douche about it all, it hasn't been a problem unless people make it that way
he rides the pine in bulls. whats your point? hes too small to be nothing but a back up pg. id take brooks and taj Gibson somehow
ahaha maybe only in the East. And that's why Suns are desperate to keep Dragic . With all their youth and assets he is the closest to any star they have.
What they "want" to do, is trade Bledsoe for a star, trade Thomas for something of use and re-sign Dragic, that's what i'd want to do, that's what you'd want to do. But at some point, usually when option 1 is eliminated (deadline?), you need to move on to option 2, then 3, then 4 etc Are Phoenix going to move on from option 1? you'd think so, they won't advertise it, and you can never completely write it off, but does Dragic want to play that? Dragic is a Euro and a slavic to boot (like half my family), those dudes are "heartless" professional to an extreme.
Exactly the same as Dragic. Using bird rights. (that's why Rox only option is to trade for one and not FA unless they gut half the team) Keep in mind that Knight's max and Dragic max are two different amounts. But I thought about this some more and I don't think the market will be so great for him. Phill Jackson won't like him for the triangle and he is not enough hyped "big name" to make LA go all out. Good thing that everyone overlooks the Bucks so he can hopefully stay that way some more and lower his price.
I think their plan is to keep both Dragic and Bledsoe or trade Bledsoe and give a chance to Goodwin and hope that Len turns out to be as good as he seems. Then trade their one million first round picks and get a star. Or draft one with the Lakers pick. They do have the most assets besides Philly and better quality than Boston's and if let's say suddendly Cousins is fed up they can field probably the best offer.
Eh? What picks are you talking about? Phoenix's assets aren't that good, they only have 1 first round pick besides their own now, that lakers one that will probably be a late lottery/non lottery pick now that the lakers are tanking their way out of giving it up this year. As much as we hate the lakers, no one really expects them to come up short for much longer on players that won't make them a fair bit better. Boston on the other hand owns Brooklyn for the next 3 years, and Dallas and Cleveland and the Clippers, plus of course their own and they're pretty bad. However, I think it would be downright hilarious for Boogie to be traded from 1 team he doesn't want to play for, to another, that I would eat popcorn for, and I don't even like popcorn.
I don't know Aleron. The Laker's pick is top 5 protected and the tankathon is getting hotter and hotter. It only takes one team to get the former Cavs GM child in the lottery and jump ahead which has happened in virtually every draft lottery and they lose it. And I don't think that the Lakers will jump next year as high as you think. They got nothing on that roster besides a dinosaur Kobe a broken Randle oh and Tariq Black lol. They will likely strike out in all the big names FA and no way they are close to the POs imo. All Boston's picks are late except their own and the Brooklyn's two which could possibly strike gold. If I were the kings and had to trade Cousins I would take Len(high upside defensive center) + Bledsoe + top 5 pick over anything Boston had. And tell Cousins to shut up. He still under contract for three more years. Will be hillarious for sure. But.."who can stop God's plan" ?
You're giving a sunshines, rainbows and unicorns scenario, like the absolute perfect scenario, it's about as likely as saying don't go waste your money on a $20k car, you're going to win the lottery next week. The lakers will finish with likely the 3rd worst record at worst for them, and Sacramento aren't trading Boogie
Agreed. But that doesn't mean that this isn't what they aiming for. Plus we will have to see about the Lakers. They are strangely competitive some nights and there a few trainwrecks around that can get real ugly really fast.( Denver Magic)
What's the deal with all the Knight talk? I was under the impression that the Bucks were looking to lock him up.
If we can't land our big fish PG we should target DJ Augustin, not sure Detroit would trade him he's been playing well
Separate point, but - Wont Goran Dragic (if traded for in February) only be able to qualify for the "Early Bird" Exception which would allow the Rockets to sign Dragic above the cap, but only 175% of his current salary (which would be about 13.2 mil per)? So if the Rockets were to trade for Dragic, based on what I'm seeing (I might be wrong if I'm reading this wrong) the Rockets will have to compete with a significantly lower free agent offer to Goran this Summer vs. what a team like the Lakers or Knicks could offer with a full max contract available with their cap space. Not sure about Brandon Knight being able to have full bird rights since he was traded after his second year. Looks like he'd fall under the Early Bird, or even the "Non-Bird" Exception which would really limit the Rockets to retain him. So if that's the case, its an even smaller number the Rockets could offer him above the cap. ..... Needless to say, if the Rockets are trading for someone NOT on a longterm contract, its important we pay attention to what exception they would fall under for purposes of retention. The more and more you look at this, the more and more palatable it looks like to shoot for someone like a Ty Lawson who is locked up on an existing contract that will keep him here for more than one half season guaranteed. The idea that the Rockets can match any offer if they trade for the player before the deadline is incorrect. I know that much.
