Yeah, but until the playoffs we'd have to be without him, which would give us a very weak / shallow frontcourt.
Man, he's worth anything that people think he's worth. We need a playmaker. We need one more piece to be a complete team (if another backup C isn't what you think the team needs and I don't think we need one right now with Howard, Dmo, Jones, Dorsey available) If he can give us what we need he is worth closer to the max than what he will probaby produce (production per dollar?)
Dwight will be back for the playoffs. If he was done for the year, he'd have whatever season-ending surgery he needed right now instead of these "bandaids on bullet wounds" type procedures he keeps undergoing. Which Dwight we get back for the postseason(the November or January one) is another matter entirely.
Dwight will be back It has been decided that harden will go at that MVP and having Dwight around will hinder that process unfortunately.
I would give up the N.O pick for a season and a half for K.Mart instead of a half a season for dragic. Just incase howard isnt healthy for playoffs this teams will need more guys that can bomb away from 3 in the playoffs and that can go out there and give you 20 any night take some stress off harden to score. I would like it to be the NY second but if not I would give up the N.O pick and be able to keep jones and dmo vs trading one of them plus N.O pick + more for dragic. Kmart avg. 21ppg game, 45% from 3, went for 30 his last game.
If these "Dwight will be back for the playoffs" posts are because of my earlier post, I'd just like to say FTR that I never said he wouldn't be back for the playoffs. I said he's unlikely to be back before the playoffs - as in, he's unlikely to return for much of the regular season. That's what I meant, at least. Apologies if I wasn't very clear.
how many points dragic had his last game... 9 points 4/11 & doesn't get to the Ft line. looks like a LIN outing to me. Just dont get the hype where people would give up DMO, FILLER, and N.O pick for a aging guy who doesnt even get many assist. Kmart puts up 30 his last outing
Pap and Shved aren't even in the rotation once Dwight comes back TJ's minutes will decrease further. Rondo had less value coming off of several injuries he was dinged up. Dragic is healthy and playing much better than Rondo was when he was traded.
The Suns have 3 more games before the trade deadline. Tonight - vs. Utah Sunday - @ Sacramento Tuesday - vs. Houston My guess is they go 1-2 in these games, which gives them a 29-25 record and puts them at 3-7 in their last 10 games. If OKC can win all 4 of their remaining pre-deadline games, they'd be at 29-24....so at best they will be a 1/2 game ahead of PHX at the deadline. More likely, PHX will be 1 or 2 games ahead.
I would LOVE K-Mart right now. Hated him when he was here, but that's because he just wasn't a #1 option. Bringing him in now would allow us to play Harden at the 1, Martin at the 2. Defense would take a hit but Bev isn't really moving the needle either.
It will hurt us a lot on defense. Harden will have his hands full against the elite PG's. This will reduce his effectiveness on offense, and force him to the bench when he gets in foul trouble. Kevin Martin won't be able to guard anyone at all either. Ariza and Brewer will have to pick up the slack. It won't work, I am afraid.
Does Phoenix think they can win a playoff series as constructed? Does Phoenix think they can win a playoff series against any of the top 4 WC seeds? We know they can't. I'm pretty sure McDonough knows they can't. So something has to give. They either have to make a blockbuster type trade that elevates them as a team to being competitive against the top 4 in the WC or they have to choose to compete to be playoff fodder or make moves that make them more competitive in future years. I don't see a blockbuster deal that makes them playoff competitive. Even an acquisition of Brook Lopez doesn't appear to me to be enough for them to possibly get past one of the top 4. McDonough is too smart to stand pat.
The problem here is that even sneaking in as the 8th seed is something they can sell their fans on. Remember when the Rockets were going through their drought? None of us cared HOW we got in......we just wanted in! And right now, Phoenix might not want to do anything that messes up chemistry for the last 30 games. They're just looking at it from the standpoint that they only have to stave off New Orleans and OKC. Perhaps they feel like they can do that as constructed.
Dragic is playing out of position....its a large part of the reason he's not happy with the 3pg setup and why we're even talking about them moving him. As great as all three pgs might be,only one (Bledsoe) is really able to get his. Dragic is typically left on the bench or playing against SF's since he's the biggest of all three.
Yea. We have to rely on the GM and owner thinking rationally vs emotional: rational being that they have a good chance of getting caught by a durant and westbrook team, and they're likely to lose Goran anyway. Emotionally being they haven't been in the playoffs in years and this team could probably scrap its way in.
If if if something like that were effected feel comfortable that a by-out big or returning from CBA big will be on call; or one for Denver's 2nd?
No no no... I think it'd be ideal to fill both needs! I know we need another playmaker but if you're just gonna throw a buncha money at this guy Cuz the Lakers and Knicks are I think that's dumb! Rockets would be better suited to try and go all out for him now (not trading Dmo tho) and have his bird rights to sign him. If The Rockets have to wait till the summer to try and get him I think it'll be tougher cuz rockets really don't have THAT much cap open about 7.5 mil so we would lose a lot of our bench to sign Dragic.
