The Lakers have their coach "testing" lineups and trying to stop the top 5 protected pick to phoenix correlating nicely. Toronto with Lowry and Dragic, man, the irony of that.
Kostas + Jones + Capella + Shved + NOP for Goran + Zoran + Gerald Green + Plumlee is about the only realistic trade I can imagine. We aren't getting Dragic without at least Jones/Dmo and NOP. I don't think we trade DMo. I still don't know if that's enough to get Phoenix to bite. I do think this trade puts us in immediate contention. Plumlee is a nice add on with the addition of Wright he is pretty redundant there. We could use him while Dwight is out and as insurance.
damnit all together quoting me lol I said IF THE ROCKETS OFFER IS ONLY NOP AND FILLER then they would be other teams making better deals. Secondly just heading to the East will make Dragic an All-Star and his team a PO one that can go deep. Thirdly of course if Dragic doesn't resign with the team that has his bird rights it will be bad for his carreer because he is already what 29? so that means one less year in his last big contract. Fourthly it's obvious that LA and NY will ONLY try to get Dragic as FA they have nothing else to offer. BUT the other teams in the list have more than the NOP pick.
Because Green (expiring contract) has played 15 MPG in the last 10 games and has essentially become the odd man out with Archie Goodwin also in the pipeline and Plumlee is redundant. Kostas + Capella are more valuable to the Suns than those two players. Kostas contract is very team friendly despite the numbers and Capella has much more upside than any big man on their team not named Alex. Not saying that trade happens, but if a trade with Phoenix happens I expect some combination of those players switching teams.
Ok so by this reasoning you're saying most likely a team pays way over market value which we can't trump. If the assumption is such a team would skew the market then yes we can't compete with stupidity. I think most of us reason in the realm of what teams will likely and reasonable do. If we reasoned in what teams will foolishly do than there's no limit to the guessing and conjecture we could come up with.
Utah is looking for backcourt Burke is crap and possibly out of the leage in 3 years and Exum is raw so raw. Miami can offer Deng and MacBob > than a late lottery pick in this draft Charlotte can offer Vonleh at the least plus Indiana..don't know their assets to be honest never liked that team. Detroit : pick and KCP Toronto: DD or Ross or The Knicks/Nuggets pick of 2016 Milw: Knight Henson Lac 2017 pick whatever (i don't want him for my team) Sac: the best case. Needs a pg badly and have tons of assets as I already mentioned So as you can see there are a ton of teams that have a lot better to offer than that pupu platter.
Nope. My reasoning is their owner has repeatedly proved that he is the worst kind of idiot => an idiot who doesn't realise that he is an idiot and thinks that he is smarter than all the rest. He always goes after the big flashy names.Like Dragic.
Miami - Deng has a player option (so that makes no sense) and Mcbob has an acl so he might not even be back properly for 2 seasons Detroit : a SG that shoots under 40% fg and under 70% ft is valuable? Jones better value than that guy, and the NO pick would be higher than Detroit's pick, and even then, why would he stay? Toronto : you really think they'd bring in Dragic to Lowry's team? are you for real? Starting pg for east all star team, already had an issue involving Dragic before and their GM would bring him in? Teams with an all star typically don't trade for more people at that position. Milwaukee : Parker is 19 with a knee injury (so give him til 2016-17), Freak is 20, Knight is 23, Goran is 28, you don't see the issue here? Sac : Even Boogie doesn't want to be there and the sheer ridiculousness of that organisation is mind boggling
Curious why you think SAC couldn't get a deal done for Rondo then if they're willing overpay? How come they couldn't/wouldn't trump the Mavs package?
You're reaching. No one will trade for Dragic without the will to pay him the money he wants. That shortens your list of teams considerably. If Houston gets involved I'm sure it'd be a three-team trade.
Aleron.......I said if the Rocket's offer is ONLY THE NOP pick. As others have suggested and think that only the NOP would be enough to get Dragic plus would be the best offer from every other team. Miami..Will Deng even exercise his PO? Don't know.McBob will be back for the start of next season as far I know. Toronto..What? Is there a personal problem between Dragic and Lowry? I didn't know that what happened? Toronto has good assets Casey is in love with small ball and DD is terrible. I think Mashai would be all over the chance to get Dragic by trading so cheap. Plus next year they have big cap space I think Milw: Yeah I agree but FO DOES NOT. Bucks already trying to get Lawson so ..:/ Sac: The opportunity to pair with Cousins is very tantalising plus can't see Corbin making it to next season. Not a chance. Boogie alrady has shown his displeasure on and off the court. Det: depending if they keep Monroe yeah they would be all over Dragic. KPC has a nice season has two more years in rookie contract and fits in most teams. If they add their lottery pick that will be lower than NOP that dwarfs the Rockets offer. I think SVG will convince him to stay anyway
Oh but they tried. Repeatedly. Rondo said loud and clear he would never resign there that's why they didn't go through with this. Dragic having said he wouldn't have a problem to play with Kobe and will give every team in FA equal chance =/= Rondo
You must've missed that part of Rockets history. Pretty nasty stuff if leaks are to be believed. Then Morey traded Lowry in the offseason. You do the math.
Why they wouldn't be willing to pay him the money he wants and Houston would? They will have his bird rights after all and can offer him the best contract.
Still reaching. You'd think Dragic would want to be the starting point guard. Why go to Toronto? Utah won't pay him. Milwaukee won't pay him. Detroit would offer......what, exactly?
Utah would pay him and give the chance to Exum to be mentored next to him. They just don't want to pay Kanter because his defence sux and doesn't fit with the rest of the frontcourt. Mil would pay him. Det: better lottery pick than NOP plus KCP.
Seriously, you're on a Rockets site and you think Toronto would take the risk with that again, one of them is going to lose the pg spot, and neither of them want to do that. Dragic does not want to match up against wing players, how many times does he have to say this himself? As for Milwaukee, Lawson is a year younger, but he's also a distro point guard (Knight and Dragic are similar players, cept Knight has been better this year, go figure hey, let's trade old and down) but more importantly, he's also under contract for another 2 years after this one. You know why a team like Milwaukee would go for a contracted player rather than an expiring right? As for Deng, no, he'd leave Phoenix, why do you think he even got that player option? to make himself nigh untradeable (he's just not a high pace team player, which is why staying east was part of his plan last year, so i have no idea why phoenix would even think about that).
