DJ Augustine looked pretty good tonight and could be had for pretty cheap. Maybe not a long-term solution, but he definitely could work for this year.
Not sure why you think Detroit would surrender him so easily. He is flourishing, he is their starting point guard now, and they have a serious chance of making the playoffs. They're only like 2 and a half games out of the 7th spot and I could easily see them catching either Miami or Charlotte.
The same reason why some on here thinks Milwaukee will let Knight bounce. Lol only in the GARM. Would be nice to get either player though.
This time it'll be good to see if anyone is a real insider here. Seeing that I feel certain Phoenix is not going to give us Dragic, and Lawson (I wish) and Knight aren't actual options, there arent known targets that will happen I'd be surprised if someone can call a trade before it hits the Internet.
Money issue will always be an issue for small-market teams and cheap owners. How do you think we got Harden?
I think Lawson is definitely an option. Just don't know if Morey will be willing to give Denver what they want for him(which I believe will be a 1st rounder + a quality player at the least). The other 2 I agree on. No chance....
Denver has had success with Lawson. I think they felt that they were missing a star for them to get over the hump, but something to add to Lawson, not replace him. Even if they were, like I said, they'd need a star, or that potential, not an 11th pick or Dmo, is good as he's been. And even if Dmo is that good. They're young and set at the PF and center with Faried and that young dude from Bosnia, forget his name
If there is a trade for a player with substantial salary (Dragic, Lawson, etc), I would be surprised if it occurred before February 18th (or announced right before) because Shved's $3.3MM salary cannot be moved until that day and think it will be crucial for salary matching a player with veteran salary levels. Brewer is a lot less likely to be moved but also has the same restriction.
I admit to not knowing enough about the Nuggets, but didnt they invest in Faried for 5 more years? At C they have McGee and Nurkic, then backup PFs in Hickson and Arthur. Kinda feels (to me) as if they need a star, not another good player. Sure, the Pellies pick gives them that extra chance to find someone, but not convinced Jones fits a need for them?
Nuggets are trying to dump Hickson and McGee to any team that will take them. Arthur is expiring. The Nuggets may not accept Jones+Pick for Lawson(I don't think that's enough personally), but it won't be because they're loaded at bigs.
If there is the slightest chance we get Lawson it would have to be at least a three team trade. We can't take on their bad contracts and we don't have much to offer them that they'd want, seeing they already have Faried and Nurkic. Something where Philly absorbs Denver's bad contracts and gives them MCW (potential to replace lawson ) but we give Philly DMo whom I'm sure Hinkie loves, and we spread some smaller assets like Canaan and NJohnson along with expirings and the NOP pick to whichever team seems more fair
The Nugs have been trying to get rid of McGee not Hickson. Hickson was supposed to be the sweetener(LOL) along with a first (OKC's not Denver's). The question is who can absorb McGee and what that team would want in return because as it is Rox and Nugs are not a good match as trading partners. Nuggets just gave a poison pill contract to Faried however there have been already reports I think from Stein(?) that management doesn't like him and he has been made available. With the poison pill contract it is almost impossible to find a trading partner for him. Right now the team with the most available cap space is Philly. They have 19 million next is Orlando with 7 mil and then the Bucks with 6.7 million. The WOJ report is not insignificant because for Denver to ask their 2013 second round pick to come over so suddendly it means in any trade they now don't have roster spot to take back two for one. I think the ones who will be most likely trade are Afflalo Chandler Gallo and in the very end Lawson. I can see many teams interested in that buffet especially Portland and Chicago. Could it be that Morey's target is not Lawson who is arguably the hardest to get but someone else from them? Afflalo maybe??? BTW Sorry for the misunderstanding but I'm definitely and absolutely NOT an insider. Just a fan who follows the league.
Let's be real. The impact third player that we want is not available. Let's get some more veteran roleplayers in that case. Mo Williams/Jose Calderon Wilson Chandler (YES PLEASE) (Another solid big man?)
Yes to Wilson, maybe to Caldo, no to Mo (dude has to be one of the biggest playoff chokers I have ever seen.) Whose the best Kyle Korver/Del3ino type player available? We need some shooting specialists on this squad.
