    Then who is?

No, Dwight Howard is injured and honestly he hasn't been playing well since before Christmas. If Dwight Howard ever comes back fully healthy, he'll obviously be the 2nd best player on the team, but until then, it's DMo.

Dmo has been our 2nd best player this season. D12 has been injured and still wants to post up not playing to his strengths.

    Stop using logic!...

Logic has no place in a discussion forum, you must reedumicate yourself or the intelegimate people here are going to say you're full of hate, with a sole purpose of offending the messenger! Clutch says Cyberx is legit, nuff said. Neither dobro, myself or anyone else is trying to go against what has already been declared/established!

Silly rabbit, logic is for kidz!...

Dmo is Rockets best second option for scoring! The Howard of last years playoffs is gone! He's not coming back! If his knees are bone on bone there is no fixing that. They can temporarily get him healthy but it'll never be a permanent fix. So yes... Dmo is out best second option which is why its so important to find someone else to help Harden because Howard can't and wont be able to help on offense. HOWARD has very little skill... He relied on athleticism and power to be great and now that he's injured he lost that. Morey needs to keep Dmo and bring in someone to help with scoring. Goodluck to him

Howard is our second best player. People get seduced by D Mo's spin moves and his occasional three but he offers nothing else. he isn't that good on defence and he is clumsy at times

Lets wait until D mo does this for a few seasons before jumping the gun(like so many Rockets fans do)

It depends on the degree of damage to Howard's knee.

A healthy Howard is vastly superior to DJ.

DJ is not a good man defender and he also is out of position more often than Howard.

Offensively Jordan is great at finishing around the rim, but is even more offensively limited than Howard.

Honestly they are not that close, and DJ is going to be a free agent and get paid.

Also, you have to ask yourself.... the Clippers have Paul and Blake, arguably the best point guard and the one of the 3 best power forwards in the NBA and they still haven't really accomplished a whole lot with DJ.

That's a no brainer. Of course most would want DJ right now over Howard. But unfortunately Morey wanted Howard, wanted him so bad that he went after him more than once.

I like Jones! But Dmo is a 7 footer who can post up and is getting better at that corner 3! I think Dmo is too vital to this team. There's not a lot of players like him right now with both of those skill sets.

I find it funny that narrative is still being pushed given that the numbers disagree with it.

    http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/202700/tracking/defense/

Anyway, like I pointed out above, Dwight Howard is hurt and has been playing like garbage since Christmas. Since Dwight has been hurt, DMo has clearly been the 2nd best player and has been more than solidly on both sides of the ball even if casual fans have a hard time seeing that.

I would rather have Dwight! Unless DJ came back in a package with Paul too.
It is his contract year and he will take the max. For someone who is nothing in offence his defence is overrated and you can't even let him in in close games or at the fourth.
Dwight yes has mileage and injuries but let him rest and be fresh in the PO and he will give you much more than DJ ever would.
In the end that's what it counts. The Playoffs not the dunks of the regular season.
Good question. He can play 2-4 but many fans hope he ends up at the 5 coz we Sanders brain injured we have nothing there. Right now he plays as guard while working at his post game and gaining as many skills as possible. So it all depends I guess with what is around him. With Parker's bad defence I think GA ends up playing PF on offence while guarding SF.
I wouldn't say no to Jones but I don't think he fits very well with us.

ps. DMO fits Kidd's system like a glove. If we could get him in the Bucks it would be like Christmas for me lol  I love him! What a progress this year!
BUT I think Morey shouldn't trade him. Rockets need him to keep the team going while Dwight rests.

Assuming Dwight's health does not improve, 10x out of 10. I'd rather a healthy Dwight over DJ, though.

So if Dmo is only good at those things then tell me what current Howard is good at? Not the Howard from last years playoffs or Orlando Howard. This years Howard is playing pretty good defense but his offense is terrible. A player who can't stay healthy is not better than someone who is on the court playing just sayin...

GM's, executives, scouts, ect say ALL KINDS OF THINGS when they don't believe others are listening in or even when they are. Did you forget already what Hawks former GM Ferry said about Deng during a scouting report? All GM's have their ideal dream lineups that they feel can contend at any point in time.

Dmo's defence is seriously underrated here. There are young bigs like Valanciunas Vucevic Kanter who get all the hype while their defence is AWFUL!

And defence from the bigs is the most important nowadays. If your center is Al Jefferson a black hole in defence you going nowhere no matter how good post game he has and how he scores.

Lol, this how you know rockets have problems. D-mo is good but should not be the second best player on the whole team.

This also how you know james harden is the MVP. How are we sitting in 3rd right now? Wow

Harden needs help from a trade or new starting 5. Brewer can create and so can dmo And tjones.

What about a starting 5 of:

    Harden
    dmo
    tjones
    brewer
    ariza

    I'm sure it's been mentioned

Useless to keep arguing over Dwight v. DMo as our second best player. Immaterial when one of those guys is currently not in a position to contribute anything at all and looks primed to miss most, if not all, of the remaining season. Helen Keller can see that DMo is the second best player of those currently healthy and available -- which is really all I'm concerning myself with at this point. Moving DMo when even Morey sounds stressed/unsure about what's going on w/ Dwight would be a pretty terrible idea, IMO.

His defense is underrated... I think he's just someone that Morey shouldn't move. He's important for the immediate and long term future of Houston. Dmo roatation on help D is good.

It doesn't matter who is better. It matters who is more needed and important.
DMO right now is the one who keeps the ship afloat in the center position.
So while in his best Howard is better right now for the team DMO is the second most important player.imo.
Suns have been spreading they want back a first but noone is gonna pay them that. Plumplee is better than Dorsey and that's about it. Warm body big stiff to take some minutes as a third big but he has starter aspirations
If you really want him the NYK second would do it I think..

If I was the other team I would press him non-stop and have him use a lot of energy just to bring the ball up. Leaving 12 secs to run an offense and probably end up being an ISO play for himself.

I would pressure him until he becomes exhausted and have the rest of the Rockets beat me.
