I'm a little worried that both Phoenix and New Orleans will be frozen into inaction. New Orleans is one back from #8, and OKC is 2 back. Both teams have rough stretches leading up to the trade deadline, but so does OKC.

My best guess is OKC goes 4-4, Phoenix 3-5, and New Orleans 3-5. That leaves Phoenix in 8th and OKC/NOP one back in 9th. Even something more favorable like OKC 6-2, PHX/NOP 2-6 leaves OKC up only by 2 games.

We need a team in deal making mode. To me, that points towards Denver and Ty Lawson.

If Melo is healthy and open to it I would expect a full court press from Morey. Not saying I agree or disagree with targeting him. It just makes sense. I could also see a disaster scenario where we wait until the last second, focus all of our energy on Melo, then have him fail the physical in the 11th hour.

BTW, of course we are "dangling" Terry's contract........as part of salary filler for a larger trade. That's about as predictable as the sun coming up tomorrow.

I believe the contract is being dangled, has been dangled and will continue to be dangled. McHale loves him... but just look at the contract. He was brought here to fall on the sword eventually. He's basically a piece of meat and knows it.
