If they're "going for it," why would they make the team worse by trading valuable players for a backup PG?

Bring in Ty and bring in Beasley. We can create a new locker room culture.

None of the 4s you listed have Anderson's shooting ability. He brings a completely different skillset than TJones, DMo, Smith or Howard.

Plus, this gives you the flexibility to include DMo in a trade for Dragic. Not saying we would, but you have to admit that DMo + NOP 1st would be very difficult for PHX to turn down (playoffs or no playoffs).

Also, I think there's a 3 way trade that could work for HOU, NOP, and PHX...

PHX In: Gordon, NOP 1st, NYK 2nd
    PHX Out: Dragic, Dragic, Plumlee

NOP In: Terry, Papa, Shved, TJones, Plumlee, Canaan, DEN 2nd
    NOP Out: Anderson, Gordon

    HOU In: Dragic, Dragic, Anderson
HOU Out: Terry, Papa, Shved, TJones, Canaan, NOP 1st, NYK 2nd, DEN 2nd

    Dragic / Beverley
    Harden / Brewer
    Ariza / Brewer
    Anderson / DMo
    Howard / DMo / Smith

In return for 2-3 months of Dragic, PHX gets the SG they wanted 3 years ago (Gordon) and the NOP 1st. They also get the NYK 2nd in return for Plumlee (which is the best offer they will get for him). Gordon is healthy (for now) so the drop up from Dragic to him shouldn't be significant. Even if he does get hurt, he's a large expiring next season that PHX can use with their picks to get the star they've been searching for.

NOP gets to clear out Gordon's salary. It will cost them Anderson, but they get an infusion of youth from TJones, Canaan, Papa, and Plumlee. It is NOT an issue that they are bringing in so many players because they have several guys on one year minimum contracts that they can easily cut.

Houston goes into "all in" mode, but was still able to keep DMo and Capela.

He's also been arrested for domestic violence. Don't see the organization bringing him in.

This seems viable, and may be the best proposal I have seen.

Of all the god awful, hairbrained ideas we've seen on this site, this one takes the cake.

Phx gets two draft picks and a terrible player on a worse contract for their best player. New Orleans gets one interesting piece and a bunch of crap that they will have the privilege of cutting four players for.

    Good grief.

Edit: Phx wants a first for Plumlee, now they are giving up Plumlee AND Dragic for a 1st and a 2nd PLUS they have to take on Eric Gordon's anchor contract. That deal is terrible.

You are being overly critical. The only thing I would see is Phoenix asking more. NOP want to dump Gordon and are getting multiple young skilled players in return.

I think you'd clean that up in the offseason. For now, you need his ability to spread the floor.....both for the sake of Dwight and Harden. A big man rotation of Dwight, DMo, Anderson, and Smith should work.

We really need to be cheering for NOP to flop over the next month. It helps the NOP 1st, and it lowers Anderson's value. They've got a really tough stretch starting next Friday with LAC, ATL, OKC, OKC, CHI all in a row. Without Holiday, I could easily see them losing all 5 games and dropping well behind OKC and PHX for the 8th spot.

On a related note, I'd like to officially verify this Woj story

Have to say that Lawson's photo looks pretty good for a DUI mugshot.

I realize this may be an unfair question, but what are the chances a deal gets done by the trade deadline? After these two warrior games (beatdowns), I keep agonizing over us getting better with a trade deadline deal, and I hope I am not deluding myself.

Thanks for sharing and helping to alleviate my (and I'm sure many other CF members') anxiety!

Again, you don't know what you don't know. *When healthy* Gordon is a good player and obviously PHX wanted him a few years ago. Sure, they could be scared off by his injury history, but they are probably also concerned with Dragic leaving this summer. Gordon, the LAL 1st and NOP 1st would give PHX a dominant trade chip going into next season.

We don't know what PHX really thinks, but I seriously doubt its "we won't trade Dragic for anything short of a star player*. Trading Dragic could be the move that sets up "the move", just as trading Lowry was the move that set up the Harden trade.

As for Plumlee...that's just my own opinion. I don't think they will get a 1st for Plumlee, I do think they would trade him for something other than a 1st, and I don't think they will get a better offer than the NYK 2nd. Plumlee is not Mozgov. Mozgov generated 2 low end 1st because he can protect the paint. Asik generated a middle 1st because he can protect the paint. Plumlee doesn't do that.

I'm hearing that the Rockets have traded for James Harden. More on this as it develops.

This team is incomplete. Everybody knows it. There will be at least one deal. Doesn't mean it will be for a superstar. May be a small deal for a guy like Mo Williams. But everybody knows we're incomplete. There's going to be a deal.
