If i had to put a bet on it, Deron is the guy they most likely acquire by the deadline. Rockets organization understands with Harden playing at an MVP level and Dwight on the decline, they have to go for it all this year and next. Can't sit around, wait, and hope for 2015 and 2016 that a free agent comes.
There may be rumors that the Rockets are trying to get the rest of the league to bite on, but I just don't see it. Bad contract, and he's a shell of his former self. If we actually were interested, I'm sure we'd want something else in return, and they have nothing to offer. Only way it happens is if a 3rd team is involved that takes Johnson/Lopez and sends a very good piece our way. If that piece is a player, the player has to be on a cheap contract.
I can see the rockets going after Joe Johnson...he can create his own shot, but maybe doesn't bring much vocal leadership? And there's his contract of course.
No to acquiring anyone from Brooklyn. I wouldn't mind facilitating a deal, but their players/contracts don't make sense for us. Something like: BKL In: Asik, Shved, Dorsey, NYK 2nd BKL Out: Lopez NOP In: Lopez, Papanikolaou, DEN 2nd NOP Out: Asik, Anderson HOU In: Anderson HOU Out: Papanikolaou, Shved, NYK 2nd, DEN 2nd Beverley / Terry Harden / Brewer Ariza / Brewer DMo / Anderson Dwight / Smith
Do the Rockets really need another 4? With DMo, Smith, and Jones, that's probably the deepest position on the entire team.
Really, I prefer playing Canaan than trading for DWill. If they trade for DWill, then Morey shows he really doesn't know how to put together a team. From waiting for that 3rd star to getting someone ... anyone who's available.

Still doesn't make sense to add another player at the absolute deepest position on the team. When I think about the game of basketball, I realize that you can't use 3 PF's at the same time and that there is only so much playing time to go around. Addressing a weakness helps this team a lot more than adding another PF would....even if that PF is a really good 3 point shooter that plays no defense.
Um, Cyberx posted this weeks ago. And I hope it's not true today the same as I did when he first posted it. I'd rather have Jarrett Jack at this point, tbh. Even before he got hurt (AGAIN), DWill had lost his starting spot to Jarrett. No, thanks.
