That just sounds like Doc giving his opinion on who he thinks the Rockets could go after. I don't think there's anything actually linking the Rockets to Vasquez.

It might be Morey's best solution after he looks at all the possibilities and outweighs the pro's and cons of all the deals he could make. Trading Beverley and forcing McHale to play Canaan might actually be an option for Morey. He's done it many many times before with McHale and Adelman, and pretty much every time the team was better off for it.

I am not sure how much value Lawson would have in trade. Look around the league and see which teams would be interested and what they have to offer.

He has 2 seasons left on his deal after this season. I am not sure if that is a negative or positive.

Personally I would gladly give up the Pelicans pick, Knicks pick, Canaan and more for him..... I think the Rockets are at another level with Lawson........

    Lawson/ Beverley
    Harden/Brewer
    Ariza
    Montijunas/Smith/Jones
    Howard/Dorsey

That is a deep, well constructed rotation on paper...

That D league PG chipped in 21 points vs. the warriors and averaged 13, 3, and 3 in all the games where he played more than 25 minutes. Everyone could see that his confidence was building. He was tearing apart LAC when he went down. Don't dismiss Canaan so easily.

Could "Best beer" be Brandon Knight? Milwaukee is known for their beers and he's the best player on that team.

I'm 99% sure he's talking about Lawson. He's saying he would tap the Rockies

Maybe, but moving Lawson basically means they're saying they are tanking. he's what's kept them even remotely competitive. I think he's probably really underrated as a creator. When he's on the floor, he assists on 43% of his teammates baskets, which basically puts him behind Rubio, Westbrook, Wall and CP3 and in the same vein as Rondo.... Westbrook, Wall, CP3 all have much higher usage rates, though. It'd be nice if he had a slightly higher TS%, but it's still ok, and he can score. You'd obviously be concerned defensively, but I'm past worrying about whether or not an individual player can be a good defender at the PG spot. PBev is, apparently, and it just results in over aggressive defense and getting torched anyway. I'd rather have a guy make the other teams point work.

So, it's kind of pointless, but clearly Ty Lawson is worth the Pelicans draft pick. The idea that I could get anything of close to Lawson's value with that pick next year is kind of crazy. Sure Lawson was picked 18th, but it's taken him 6 years to get to where he is. The Rockets don't need a low to mid teen's pick.

When you factor in that Lawson is getting paid $12-$13 million over the next couple years, which is more than fair, it's a no brainer.

But AGAIN, are the Nuggets going to really throw in the towel? If they do, can they find cap space by moving Gallinari/McGee - granted, I'm not 100% sure how, and they probably don't want to be trading draft picks to take players off their hands, but those guys might be "insured"? What about Faried? They just extended him... and probably overpaid him. What are they going to do with him?

I'm not saying Lawson is impossible. On the plus side, there aren't a ton of teams in the PG market. And those that maybe could use an upgrade don't really have anything of value to send back to Denver, unless they're willing to part with their own lotto picks, which isn't happening. So I don't think there will be a huge market for Lawson... but it's for that very reason that I don't think he'll get moved.

That's really what I mean; we need a playmaker who can create or score, not necessarily a PG. I prefer a 6th man because they are used to sparking without getting into rhythm first or can find their rhythm faster.

You are wrong about what this team needs. High turnover team with low assists means that we need a better starting pg, as opposed to a 6th man. Bev is good at what he does, but he fails miserably trying to create baskets.
