Gerald Green is also a former Rocket.

    :)

The one where he says that some in the Rox org are worried Dwight might need microfracture surgery on his knee.

I don't think that would work against most teams. They would lose defensive integrity along the 3 point line and get murdered in transition. It worked against us because we can't play small ball effectively.

i'm not too worried about Dwight, hopefully we can manage him well between now and the Playoffs so he is ready then. If it was Harden, then i'd be **** scared

Would they do it this season or wait?! This could change everything.

Hope this isn't the case. This would really test the heart and resolve of this team if confirmed. As well as the magician skills of Doreel Maureyi to replace this huge void in the rotation

I think you could've phrased it a little less dramatic! Yes he's hurt, but he's been able to play through the injury and is not grimacing in pain every time he goes up for a alley-oop. Are there people concerned over his injury, of course! He's one of our superstars and we need him for the playoff run, but by his own admission he's not that concerned...
Let's not put him in a wheelchair yet CF's!!

It's not entirely terrible for the Rockets. This is happening BEFORE Dwight has signed an extension, so it gives them way more leverage. They can either let him leave in 2016(or 2017 if he doesn't opt out) or only offer him a smaller deal that'll allow the team to go after other free agents. If Dwight wants to seek greener pastures elsewhere, let him. I'd rather some other moronic front office offer him 20+ mil/season when his body is breaking down.

Bottom line though, if Dwight gets microfracture, it means his days are numbered. He's way too reliant on his athleticism to be able to maintain his dominance as a defender much longer. Shoot, we're already seeing a decline this season.

If they did it in the offseason, how long does it typically take to rehab from microfracture surgery?

I think you are over-thinking it just a tad. Mobley is 39yrs old and hasn't played in in the NBA since 2008.

I would be shocked if it really is him we are after.

Microfracture is not an option. He might as well just play hobbled with what he's got. As is it's still good enough for 18-and-11. Not superstar material anymore but still very good for our team.

Dwight won't get micro-fracture surgery before the season ends (Barring a new injury which has not yet occurred)

Regardless, i'd rather let him walk once his contract expires. It will only get worse with time.

No way he opts out if he has Microfracture surgery - his days are done, this could be his last contract.

So if this actually goes down what does the team do? If it's me I hunker down and develop talent. I believe that this is still a playoff team without Dwight Howard.
