So, we can conclude that a full Nelson = Lawson is now available. Thus, all TL commentary has been Ty-ed together and here he comes - - yes hah!
Yeah this great for us. We have picks and we have some young talent that will never see our rotation anyway. Jones, Capella, picks, KPap, Canaan, Schved.
If I was Denver... I would rip the team down and build around Faried, Nurkic and Gary Harris seems to have some decent potential down the road. Step 1 is tanking the next couple years. That means pulling the plug. Lawson=The plug. The prophecy of the day is that of the "5th PG"
i doubt they are trying to dump him for "Anything" im sure plenty of teams and contenders would flip him for crap contracts and useless 2nds. They very well may be trying to sell high on him while not getting any takers at a high price, nor a medium price. but i doubt they are looking for anything...
Kenneth Faried is a solid rotation player, and effort guy off the bench, nothing more. He has no offensive skills, and is an average defensive player, yet he's getting paid like a star. If Denver offered to give him to us I wouldn't want him at that salary.
i understand the player, the contract and the situation. but to say a borderline team trying to make an extra exerted push wouldnt cough up anything of value? i realize morey doesnt want him. at the contract it completely hinders our flexibility. Believe me i dont want him on the rockets. but to say no one will give anything of value is absurd. i could easily see Sac offering something. even indiana in a 3 way were west goes to another team. he very well may not be worth a 1st or quality young talent, but he isnt a net negative in a trade either.
You may be able to easily see all sorts of stuff. Bottom line, if Sac had offered "something" or Indy generated some sort of 3-way...then Faried would already be gonzo. They can't move him without taking back worse contracts or giving up picks with him. #boatanchor
you may be easily able to see them not being able to move him without taking crap contracts and/or giving out picks. Doesnt mean he doesnt hold value of some sort. just because a player is on the market doesnt mean your going to get offers or that said player will undoubtedly be traded. sure maybe denver didnt get anything of value in talks. hell maybe they are desperate to move him(which i find unlikely). but just because nothing comes to fruition doesnt mean said player holds no value. Im not doubting you know people and/or have sources, dont care whether you do or not(personally i prefer your cap knowledge). But your not all knowing and its not like your some sort of woj or NBA type adam shefter. you cant possibly know what each team places a value on a player.
With his extension only Philly could (probably) legally trade for him (without heavy heavy maneuvering in multi-team deal). I'd take KF in a heartbeat, but that cannot happen here.
Some of you guys grab the pitchfork when Morey treats players like assets and keeps the door revolving, but now all you guys do is think about the next trade or the next target.
Sure it could happen here if we wanted him. It could have happened very easily with our cap space. No deal. PHX just gave up a first rounder for an expiring contract in Brandan Wright. Denver would have gladly given them Faried for that pick and PHX had the cap space to do that deal. They took Wright. Just a small peek at Faried's trade value.
The Harden trade is talked about as one of the greatest fleeces of all time! That's not normal operating business at the NBA. You can keep expecting lightning to strike again with Lawson, but that's fantasy land IMO.
That pick has been pretty much guaranteed (it's what? less than 5% chance it becomes a first rounder?) 2 x 2nd rounders from the moment Minny traded Love.
