im not sure that pick is losing value. they lost to the celtics tonight and soon the thunder are tied with them and will pass them (hopefully by not beating the rockets) and there are 4-5 teams that are only a few back. the pick is probably gaining in value actually
Just because you don't have the imagination to fathom something doesn't mean it can't happen. It just means you are shortsighted. I'm pretty in sure 2010 if I told the board I wanted James Harden for Lamb and a Martin rental you would all think I'm crazy. Ty Lawson can be had because they are not in the playoff picture, you just find out what they want and try to give it to them. Rebuilding teams don't wants superstars you never get equal value back.

I thought there were reports that Wilson Chandler to Portland is all but done, as long as they give up a first rounder? The arms race in the West is for real. :/
Personally I think Lawson is simply an older Isaiah Canaan with less hops. I'd rather have a young Canaan on a rookie deal. (And I like Lawson offensively.)
Basically the same exact player, except one is in the Dleague and the other is averaging 17 and 10 as a starting point in the west.
