I'm begging everybody to move on from Dragic. Phx is all in this season. We have the team we are gonna have. We just need to develop chemistry. I'm in favor of no more moves or tinkering.
So you think they choose to lose Dragic for nothing in an effort to win the championship this season? I highly doubt that's going to be the case if at the beginning of February they are 9th or 10th in the West coming off a rough stretch. Who knows? Maybe they are foolish enough to think they are going to win the championship this season, but if they are smart, they set themselves up for the future.
"Has become" doesn't mean that's what he should be for the long term solution. I like Len but that front line is not going to do anything but make you a bubble team...if your backcourt stays healthy for all 82 games.
Yeah, no. Len has the potential to be one of the best centers in the league, barring serious health issues. He has the length, agility, frame, shooting touch, basketball iq ... He's still raw offensively and defensively, but already has a nice mid-range game, ability to finish strong around the basket and block shots at an amazing rate. He needs to gain muscle and develop offensively and defensively in the post and he'll end up a very good, well rounded center.
Then I'd look at some min or expiring contract moves Wolters who was recently, Prigioni, and even Joe Ingles. I'm not high on Ingles at all but on the Rockets Ingles would be able to play the way he did for Australia at the FIBA games. No harm trying if the cost is only Dorsey.
Not "for no reason" I presume that will happen because they have a notoriously cheap owner and they have other FA's to try and sign such as the guy they just traded for. I find it hard to believe that they will pay Dragic what he is looking to get paid at the same time as they pay 2 other expensive PG's and pay their new big man what he wants. I guess it could happen, but it would be out of character.
Solid 27yo PG that can push the pace, penetrate, spot up for three, play disruptive defense and will have a cap friendly deal in the new/transitional CBA? Where do I sign?
Someone will offer him a max contract and a point guard role, and unless they clear the logjam, he's gone. Phoenix can keep him, and he probably wants to stay, but they need to do things first, and i highly doubt they will do those things. While he's been there, they've traded for a pg, signed a free agent pg and drafted a pg, and yet Dragic is a pg, phoenix isn't his child, the support isn't unconditional.
