Yeah that does stink on the pick but not sure why you'd care that much as the draft isn't going to be all that great and the Laker's pick should be a great one.
The Jeremy Lin pick situation could easily become a huge black cloud on the franchise if things dont go their way this year. With the protections the way it is, its absolutely imperative now that they make the playoffs this year to get rid of the pick obligations this year. If they take a step back, and other teams like Phoenix, Pelican's, take a step forward, its not hard to conceive them being a 50 win team that doesn't make the playoffs. In that case the Rockets keep their lottery pick, but in 2016 that pick has very little protection. I think its top 8 or top 5 protected. That becomes a huge asset for the Lakers if the Rockets miss out on the playoffs this year, keep that lotto pick, and it becomes a major asset that next year. Its best to make the playoffs, get that pick over to the Lakers next year, and get free from any other pick obligations.
It will be mid 20s again. Nothing major. And there is a good chance we'll have a lottery pick next year thanks to NOP.
I don't see Dwight saying no to the 5 year deal again esp after the new CBA rolls out. It will be his last 5 year mega deal on the table. I also feel like he's happy in Houston. And cut the crap.. Dwight signed here bc of Harden. I know Parsons likes to think it was bc of him but it wasn't. Dwight has tweeted that it's on him and James. He didn't even mention Parsons in that tweet not too long ago. Morey will find a third solid stud to go along with Ariza and Harden. We will be fine. Y'all will see.
Totally. I mean the suns a t 48 wins were right about there last year. If this keeps happening, the league has to take a harder look at scheduling and playoff seeding.
I think we are better than last year. If you read my post, I was never too high on parsons. But then we have the Mchale obcstacle. McHale should not be getting mad, that's hilarious.
Oh no we lost Asik who hardly played and plugged in a better fit at 3. We have to replace Lin's productivity. We'll be fine. Morey has a long time to add another stud and him not matching Parsons allows for that. Parsons' defense will not be missed.
He has some very large piles of money to keep him consoled (for some reason i think of Mayweather when i say this)
One injury away is what is scaring Morey at the moment. Before you had Dwight go down and you could plug Asik and be fine. You have Beverly go down (which they know is very possible with his style of play) - you had a decent plug in... Is Morey worried? Of course he is. Is he working hard? Yes.
This! Asik spent more time pouting and demanding trade than busting his a55 on the court. Lin's easily replaceable. And Trevor is an adequate replacement for Parsons. Not sure why all the gloom and doom here. Sure it's a big let down considering the initial plan when we started the free agency. But compared to last year? We'll be fine.
Im getting more and more convinced that Parsons was an over glorified, gumby hair cut, catch and shot specialist. Plus a negative on the defensive end. Those are a dime and dozen in this league, why pay 15 million? Oh wait, Fegan's current clients have 0 titles among them.
Fegan wants to maximize dollars. He's not gonna steer Dwight from the 5 year deal. Everyone knows Dwight is happy in Houston. He's not going anywhere barring a disaster which I don't see happening. I can't wait until Harden drops a 40 spot on 15 shots and we'll all be reminded on who the real superstar is on the team aside from Dwight.
Are we going after someone like rondo via trade or are we going for veterans to replace Lin and Asik for the moment
