Your username told me everything that would be in your post. You could be right about the stupidity of the idea. Howard would be perfect for them. But Love wouldn't exactly suck as a Rocket. I wrote more out of frustration of your namesake's complete G.A.F. attitude as of late, this pouting, dog-it effort where you see Harden and even Beverly exhorting him to get more engaged. Howard better remember his salary is 20 some-odd million and he's been outhustled by guys who were one step away from working at Home Depot. Obviously Howard is here to stay.
Love is hot garbage on Defense...Besides ruining our appeal to free agents around the league for the coming years, Trading D12 would leave D-Mo and Love to patrol the paint hahaha...We'd essentially be in the same situation that Cleveland is in now in that Hypothetical proposition...I'd rather not give up 100+ points every game in whatever fantasy this deal takes place haha
I would too. My reasons being is that Love would match Harden and our offense perfectly, and Love is 3 years younger and has played 4 seasons less than Howard. Harden and Love would be a duo for almost a decade, Harden and Howard is a duo for less then half a decade. Bigger championship window means everything.
Maybe rockets can work a four team deal Dragon to houston Waiters to Phoenix Jordan hill or Biyombo to Cleveland NO 1st + PaPA to LA or Charlotte
Good point, that just adds to the negatives we'd essentially be gifting a Two way Star for multiple years for nothing considering love is a free agent next year...Just adds to the negatives...I'm never one for trading stars for no good reason...Shifting chemistry and locker room dynamics is hardly ever worth it and it makes the players question team loyalty...Although we're just speaking hypothetically haha
Jeez, ya'll, let it go. Of course there will be no trading of stars. Just me commenting in frustration about Dwight's effort lately. If he's hurt, he should curtail his minutes. If it's his attitude, then he needs to adjust it. Just something about him seems off.
I feel you man haha just adding to the convo...Dwight will be fine when it matters most He does have problems with certain matchups, but that's when guys like Smith and Ariza need to step up like in the Memphis game...I think he may be fighting through nagging injuries as well, but with the addition of Smith and Brewer I think it's important that's he's on the court for chemistry purposes
Exactly, still have plenty of reg season games to get this working, and if these guys mesh at the right time could give the Rockets hope to do something when it actually matters.
This would be Clutchfans if our team was the San Antonio Spurs for the past 15 years: 1999 (Championship) We're the BEST! Long live Duncan!! 2000 (Lose in Playoffs) Last year was obviously a fluke, should trade Timmy while we can get some value for him. 2001 (Lose in playoffs) Why do we still have Duncan? 2002 (Lose in playoffs) FOR REAL??? WTF! Gut this team!!! 2003 (Championship) We're the BEST! Keep this team forever! 2004 (Lose in playoffs) Everyone's trade bait 2005 (Championship) We're the BEST! Keep this team forever! 2006 (Lose in playoffs) We need to move some pieces, got to trade Parker, Ginobili, Duncan, SOMEONE!! 2007 (Championship) We're the BEST! Keep this team forever! 2008 (Lose in playoffs) Oh, we'll get it next year. 2009 (Lose in playoffs) wait, I thought we were supposed to win every other year, ???? 2010 (Lose in playoffs) Everyone's Trade bait!! Get something for Duncan while he can still stand! 2011 (Lose in playoffs) GUT THIS TEAM! 2012 (Lose in playoffs) AAAAAHHHHH!! WHY ARE WE WATCHING THE SAME OLD GUYS LOSE???!! 2013 (Lose in Finals) Sad, just sad, I've lost all hope for humanity. I'm going to the bridge... Pop is a complete piece of garbage and should have been fired 3 years ago, the team is old and decrepit and Duncan and Ginobili are the walking dead. 2014 (Championship) We're the BEST!!! Keep this team forever! 2015 (....TBD) NOW, we have Dwight Howard, James Harden, Josh Smith, Trevor Ariza, Patrick Beverley, all approaching or in their prime and a BUNCH of young highly skilled players who are turning into legit threats on the court night in and night out. . . . . And y'all are ready to call it in. IDIOTS!
So true, Rokman. Unfortunately I think you gave some of these "fans" too much credit, I mean after a loss it's like "fire the coach/trade the team!!!", and that's just regular season, lol.
I think you're right. In fact I think a good portion of the posters on here are actually fans of other teams who come on here to just stir up crap on this board. About 25% of the other posters watch far too much football in relation to basketball and there are only 16 games instead of 82 so they think a 2 game skid spells the end of the season. This forum can be exhausting with the amount of B.S. that comes out of people's minds.
