"Assure" is a very strong sentiment. DMo, from what I saw, was just lacking touches and confidence in part to Jones' presence and McHale having him on a short leash.

Now that he knows what he can do against opposing teams' starters, DMo will be fine as long as the Rockets continue to feed him.

I find the notion that simply bc one does not start that their production is bound to regress pretty ridiculous. DMo is a highly skilled big man, whether he starts or comes off the bench he'll still be getting 30-35 mins a game. IMO he'll still get plenty of opportunities to finish a game which means a helluva lot more.

I'm salivating at a front court rotation of Howard, smith, and DMo... So much versatility both offensively and defensively. If Morey pulls off this coup

...and, he'll destroy opposing team's backups in the post.

Terry's still on the block if his salary gets us a near-max player. Shved just let's us combine salaries unlike the TPE.

Exactly. The whole "Lets turn DMo into a stretch four" idea was stupid as the guy has enough post moves to go toe-to-toe with other PFs in the NBA. Have him as your focal point on offense with the 2nd unit and work that inside-out game and you'll be fine.

    lol

Thanks for all you do for us. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Morey is giving us a great team and it is no wonder so many are so jealous.

This. Think of how many games DH gets into early foul trouble because of ticky-tack calls. DMo's minutes will be just fine between this, resting DH occasionally, and also the matchup problems it'll cause having all 3 on the floor at once. Endless possibilities.

Agree. And in theory, he should be growing even better going against 2nd team's 4 and 5s.

Our bench could use more O. Getting Smith and sliding DMo to the 2nd unit is a win-win as it brings even more D to the 1st unit and more O to the 2nd unit.

And if McHale does this right, this should allow resting Howard 5-10 minutes more a night without too much "omg...wth...Dwight...get back in there!"

Ha. Me and jtr disagreed on most things.

So basically the best case scenario would be
    Schved + Capela + Dorsey + Canaan + NOP pick + 2 of our best 2nd Rounders
    For
    Dragic

Doesn't look like Phoenix would like to take that. But I would love our team to look like this:

    Howard / Dmo / Black
    Smith / Jones
    Ariza / Brewer / Kpap
    Harden / Terry
    Dragic / Beverly / Johnson

How did we not have Garcia appreciation thread.
How is no one mentioning us releasing him???
I would not have wanted to be the person to tell him he's being cut

You have to be aware that Phoenix already have 15 players on its roster and adding any more than the one player, Dragic, it's shipping out means that Phoenx will have to make more moves...something that's probably not ideal for them. There's no way they cut any of their current players for Shved, Capela, Dorsey or Canaan.

You too man! Hearing this news on Josh Smith has made me happy! When he was back in ATL, he was one of my favorite players in the NBA.

What I like most about getting Smith (when we get him) is that he's all about defense with the occasional offensive spurt. 5x5 player, $2 mil chance, I mean, what is NOT to like? :)

Welcome to H-Town Josh Smith! What a GREAT early Christmas present!

    Thank you CyberX!
