Barring an epic meltdown they pretty much have lost.

    They have no depth anymore.

It's amazing how many balls the Heat suck now.

I wonder if it's too early to speculate about the chances that the Suns and Thunder could get hot and the Mavs freefall out of the playoffs completely. The Rondo deal was brutal for them.

Going from Detroit to Philly is like eating a piece of poo and washing it down with a glass of pee.

No way he's going to philly.

As much as I loathe the Mavs, it's way too early to say whether or not that trade was brutal for them. It was the right move for them. They are going to struggle with their depth issues though.

I saw Parsons wasn't in the game pretty much the whole fourth quarter.

This is not possible. They wouldn't be able to trade him until the offseason.

I disagree, it was early enough to say that the trade was going to be brutal for them as soon as it was announced, but some are impressed by big names (Rondo, Smith) and they don't look at the players they are today so obviously it would take them longer.

We agree to disagree. I agree that the trade will most likely not work in their favor but it's still earlier. Anything can happen but as I saw tonight, spacing is going to be a big issue for them.

Sample size is important, you are correct. I just think the deal was inherently flawed because it gave them another guy that doesn't play any defense and killed their depth. Give it a month and we'll know for sure.

I might be wrong but I feel like Rondo's defense is totally overrated. We haven't seen him play at a high level since 2011. In the East, he could get by but the west has elite PG's across the board.

Yup, just interchanging iso possessions by Thomas and Bledsoe, while he watches in the corner, while having by far the best shooting night of the three. Horrible. No wonder he's not happy about it.

I'd say way too early, considering they haven't had a ton of time to practice before playing 3 games in pretty rapid succession. Carlisle has his work cut out for him, though -- on their podcast today, Lowe/Simmons said they heard rumors that he was somewhere between lukewarm and opposed re trading for Rondo.

You aren't wrong at all, his defense has been pretty bad for a while now. Years ago he was awesome defensively but he's fallen off since about 2011 or so.

Happy that PHO beat the Mavs today, but that's 4 in a row for them now. The more they win, the less likely they may be to trade Dragic.

    Start losing!
