Aww c'mon now, SwoLy! We have to share it with everyone else in the district... It's not just the property of CFHS alone... We're pseudo rich!
But I really like teasin' the rich athletic kids that don't have good academics, meggo... it's like the tables have turned... Yes, I do. Who gives a schiett about that? My children do not attend a Cy-Fair school. They attend a low-income-neighborhood, low-resource, heavily populated by non-native speakers (Asian, Hispanic, Indian), HISD elementary school. Would you like to ask me what ranking this school has in the state NEXT?
I don't even know what you're talking about, but I have a feeling you're trying to be mean... so I hope E elbows you in the face today.
My high school didn't have any sports programs. We had to go to our home school if we wanted to play sports.
You assumed that since I live in that school district, I would praise Cy-Fair. WRONG-o. Secondly, my city is KATY. I'm not being a meanie... I said "schiett", is all... and then... ummm...you know what... ummm... I will be running circles around E today... even though I wasn't even going to play. It's PRETZEL TIME. AGAIN. I will put him in the popcorn machine a'la David Robinson... just 'cuz you wished HARM on me.
You weren't going to play because you're afraid. I knew it. Here's a tip on how to distract E during the game... shout, "HEY IS THAT HOLLY FROM THE GIRLS NEXT DOOR"
No, it's because the cartilage on my knees is gone... maybe 'cuz I didn't go to a Cy-Fair school or some bewwwwwwwwwwwwwllllllllschiettt... I ain't afraid of NOBODY. It's SwoLy-D-fense or DEATH. Just ask him. Heck no. Them chicks in The Girls Next Door need to put some meat on them bones or I ain't watching it.
E is having trouble with his knee too, but he keeps playing because I guess he wants to end up needing knee surgery!
SLC is not that great at anything except Football. Their basketball is mediocre, Never hear about their T&F, their X-country is streaky but their baseball has its ups & downs. I'm really suprised that Highland Park has dropped off the list. Historically I'd pick them as the top Athletic school in the state. They must have really dropped off this year their sports. Year in and year out they have great Football, Swimming, Tennis, X-country, and baseball. Their Basketball is their weakest sport, and even in Basketball they sometimes make the playoffs. Great to see Cy-Fair coming up. The last few years have been great to them athletically.
All of this just 'cuz they have like the top player in the nation in that girl? That doesn't make them #4. He needs arthroscopic just like I did. He will be out of action a good 1-2 years while rehabilitating it. Not THAT KIND of action, though .
Haven't been to the Berry Center. What is that? I graduated in 96 and became out of touch with cy-fair after I moved to Arlington. Now that I'm back in Houston I'm trying to keep up with them. Lol. about the nickname Cy-farm. I really hated that it was like a barnyard back when I went to school. What's the population now? a bunch of rich kids? Wow. the landscape has certainly changed if that's the case.
I remember reading that Cy-Falls had the highest median income in the Cy-Fair schools. Cy-Fair is a fat ass district. When I went to school in that district, I think only 40 percent of the land was developed. Since then, I think 20% more has been developed. Do the math, They still have plenty of room. I wish we had the Berry Center when i went. That would have been nice. i think they have two more High Schools being built. I think we need a bond to pay of that other bond. When I went to school, Cy-Fair ISD was the second fastest growing district in the country. JV is the Ghetto.
I'm conflicted. On one hand, my Hawaii pride is happy that we have the #1 spot. On the other hand, it's my rival HS. I suppose it doesn't really matter; considering when I was going there we dominated the state in the sport that really matters: Basketball. Plus, we kick their ass in academics every day and twice on Sundays. Iolani C'05
I believe CFISD is the 3rd largest school district in the state, behind only HISD and the dallas one (dISD?). And yes, when I was in school, Cy-Creek was the preppy rich kid school. Now it's pretty much getto from what I understand.
You remember the football stadium we have out on 1960 that the whole district shared? It's a (much much) bigger and nicer version of that, but it has an arena as well. It's worth a drive-by if you ever find yourself on Barker-Cypress... True story: About 10 years ago, a future coworker friend of mine (From SA, no less. Yes, Hispanic.) once took a trip with his friend to his friend's hometown (in the greater Houston area). When the two of them got there, they went to a rodeo across the street from the high school. (Starting to sound familiar, anyone???) Many years later, I meet my coworker friend, he tells me of this story. "How country!" He says. "A bunch of little rednecks!" He says. He starts laughing and laughing about it. I ask him, what was the name of the school? He said Cy-Fair. And I just looked at him straight faced and said, "That's my HS - are you calling me a redneck? You racist." He kind of stammered and hemmed and hawed for a little bit. Then I started laughing and said I really don't give a ****. Bottom line: It's really hard to get rid of the Cy-Farm crap when there IS a rodeo right across the street...
