I guess 3-a-charm was just joking. Don't take it serious! Mobley should learn not say things too early.
GBRocksFan, Mobley was against drafting Yao Ming. he even suggented to trade the #1 for Lamar Odom. "... with Lamar handle the ball, Steve and I running the break, it's over man, it's over." - Mobley
All I have is one question. If Cat were so stupid, and took so many bad shots, and had such a bad basketball IQ, and was so selfish... wouldn't his field goal percentage and assists be substantially lower than most other shooting guards? wouldn't he take more shots? There are exceptions to every rule, I know, but usually there's at least one shred of statistical evidence to back a claim, and I'm not really seeing it here. Also, go back and take a look at this BBS in late May. Cuttino's saying the same thing a lot of people here were. He hadn't seen Yao play at the time, and was going by the media reports, which projected him to be a complete bust after a week in the NBA. Can you really blame him?
This post is so stupid. You hate Mobley so much that you make up a lie claiming that Ming said it just to rip the guy? Let it go. And before you complain about me calling your post stupid, you just called Mobley stupid. I mean grow up.
Mobley, Francis and other young players were against drafting Ming because they didn't know anything about him, they got tapes of him, loved his game, and accepted him and helped him adjust to the NBA game. Everybody saw Cat and Francis helping Ming during dead ball periods on defense and telling him to be more aggressive offensively. Why you're turning this into a "Cat hates Ming, so I'll call Cat stupid and dump everything on him" post I don't know. If you're going to rip Cat might as well rip Francis. Or better yet don't rip any of them at all because apparently you're the only one that hasn't moved on about this entire thing.
