The only problem with the "Mad Max" comparison is that Maxwell had Hakeem by his side...and thus ended up looking MUCH better. His game was made by Hakeem.

Conversely, Cat has no Hakeem...and never will. I can't see anything on the horizon that's going to send him to 'another level'.

you dont need another dream to make cat better. all he needs is a low post scorer who draws a double team and can pass the ball well. a player that can do that, like divac, would make him a great player. just look at what mike bibby has done since he got to play for a team with a center that can do all of the above.

from what i hear ming can be that guy.

that problem is the offence must go through the center in order for cat to get open to drive/shoot. im not sure cat and steve are willing to make ming the first option, even if it increaces their scoring average by 5 point per game.

I don't know if he needs to be traded, but I DO know that Cuttino needs to keep his freaking pie-hole SHUT. For everyone who thinks Odom could be had for a some combination of the #15 and KT: Hell, NOT ANY MORE. No-way-in-hell do the Clippers give us that deal with Cuttino opening his damn mouth.

I know he was only voicing his opinion, but he should damn-well know better. I mean seriously, he he REALLY that stupid?!?! If he and Steve want to call the shots and not let Rudy and CD do THEIR jobs, then the Rockets are circling the bowl.

    Hey Cuttino:
It'd be GREAT to get Odom, but NO WAY IN HELL IS LAMAR ODOM WORTH THE #1 OVERALL PICK.

So just because he said something you didn't agree with on a show you think he thinks a team is only made up of 2 or 3 guys, and that he's selfish!? Lets see, he wants a talented SF on the team, and he said he is willing to give up shots, and even be a spot up shooter, something that's not part of his game, and you call that selfish!? Maybe he shouldn't have said this on the air, but how is this selfish? You guys overreact badly. Cuttino saying he didn't think Ming would help the team immediately doesn't effect a Clippers trade because they probably want Jay Williams. How does his comments effect a potential Clippers deal!?

My main problem with his comments is that they may cause some tension between Ming and Cuttino (and Steve). If the Rockets do decide to keep Ming, which I think is very likely, these comments that Cuttino made are definitely not going to make him feel very welcome. Not only could it cause Ming to decide he doesn't want to play with the Rockets, China might decide they don't want Ming in a team where he's not welcomed.

I don't think it’s a big secret that Rudy and Carol like to keep trade negotiations as private as possible. I think Cuttino should respect that, and do his best not to get involved in trade discussions. I mean if someone brings up Odom as a possible future Rocket, then I have no problem with Cat saying what positive qualities Odom would bring to the team. But when he goes on national television and says that he wants to trade the #1 for Odom, then I think that's crossing the line.

If Cuttino thinks that adding Lamar Odom would bring us a championship, he's incredibly stupid. Oh yeah we'd also have the #15 to complete the sweep of the Lakers, Kings, Mavs and Spurs

Frankly I wouldn't mind trading anyone that dumb whether he's selfish or not

There's no doubting Cuttino is one of the most talented playaz in the league...but he doesn't have it...the will to win, the desire, the aura...something doesn't feel right with him on the court.

Ya my logic sucks...sue me. :p

    Just my opinion tho...blah.

Everytime I see Cuttino come up the court and jack up a shot without passing it to anyone, I just want to kick in my tv. You are right, there is something off with Cuttino.

With someone who averages this many points, he should be considered as a premier guard in the league. He is not. Why? I don't know. I don't understand why Gomer Pyle Rudy just doesn't pull him aside and tell him to get his teamates more involved instead of jacking up 25 shots a game.

If Rudy can't have any power over this players, then its time for him to go. I am not a big Rudy fan. He is a good coach and a nice guy, but I feel that he is overrated. He doesn't know how to develop an offense at all. Wasn't Tim Hardaway yelling at Rudy during the olympics telling Rudy to make up his mind on some play? We almost lost to France.

Some coach once said that you should coach the same team for only a limited number of years because sooner or later the players will stop listening to you. I think the point has long past Rudy. Maybe he should just be the GM or some consultant to the Rockets.

I would like to see Rudy coach another team, just to see what he can do. I think it would be good for him and the other team would probably love to have him. Both sides would be rejuvinated, not to mention the Rockets also.

Yeah that's right. He only took less money to stay here in Houston, and is always on the phone doing PR work when the Rockets try and recruit players or get players to re-sign.

That kind of attitude obviously shows he doesn't care about the team.

The fact that he even has an opinion(right or wrong) about who the team should get only goes to show further that he just doesn't give a damn! Ship the bum out!;)

Watching Cuttino play made me so sick, I couldn't bear watching the second half of the season. Id trade him for Scottie Brooks and Charles Jones.

    It's a good thing that you aren't a GM.:)

Actually Cat did improve as the season went on, as far as taking ill advised shots no matter what the defense was showing. That's not to say he didn't still make mistakes, but he did improve. He's still young and keep on improving. Don't give up watching to early, you might miss something good.

Mobley was right and all of you Ming lovers really need a reality check. This guy might be 7'5", but he is no low post player. He'll probably take more ill advised shots than Mobley. People complain about the guards on this team all the time, well Ming would just be another guard to add to the frustration. You guys saw what happened when he played the USA in the Olympics, he was in foul trouble and he spent all of his PT camped out on the 3 point line. This guy isn't going to stop Shaq and make us contenders. It was wrong for Mobley to speak out in public like that, but players get comfortable on the the BDSSP because they don't feel like they're talking to media, it's like talking to the boys. I also think the reason Mobley and Francis don't want Ming is because he already seems like an outsider. All of the players on this team get along and are friends off the court, but they see Ming and he doesn't speak English, so they don't want the hassle of the language barrier. Also, Ming seems really cocky, which Mobley and Francis are, but Ming doesn't seem to want to improve which Steve and Cat have been doing every year while Ming complains about doing something basic like working out.
