Solid, I think you just gave the prime definition of a fair weathered fan. Now I don't expect us to be like the Golden State Warriors or gasp LA Clippers but atleast be able to support a playoff team. Like it or not, not cheering for a team unless it's a championship caliber team is being fair weathered.

I'm sorry but that comment was completely out of line. And it really ticked me (a Houston sports fan) off.

I don't think I've shown anything but support for this team, even when they're losing. And that's the thanks I get?

I thought LA was supposed to be your opponent, Mobley, why the hell are you trying to get us to turn on you as well?

This REALLY leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I want the Rockets to win so bad, but now ... I dunno, Mobley. I think Mobley needs to remember that some fans in the Houston area were rooting for the Rockets, 'stros, Oilers, etc. before he was even out of his diapers before he pulls crap like this.

    Mobley just alienated himself. Seriously.

Just because Mobley can play basketball does not mean he is intelligent or worldly, or even able to understand a fans perspective.

Mobley can have his opinion, no problem.

I am sure he blames the fans for all those drives Kobe put on his A$$ in game 2.

Mobes played great in game 1, then got torched in game 2.

Of course, as a fan, I couldn't possibly understand that.

    :)

It's obviously because you "we" missed a payment on his salary. Don't forget it's the 1st and 15th. ;)

?????Whose not cheering for this playoff team, we all are. The post was not about this series. It was about Mobley "going off" on the Houston fans in general. Both of the next two home games are sold out. ????

But since you brought it up, I think the Houston fans are being darn supportive of a team that played .500 ball through most of the season, then fell bassakwards in the playoffs and are on the verge of being swept. Go Rockets.

This proves Cat's stupidty. WTH he think he is. Last time I check, he was still an 2nd draft pick, couldnt play big games. Who the heck he think he is and getting paid to play in Houston. Trade him!

I am interested to see Tim's response to Mobley's remark. That's bad PR for the Rockets as at least one of their players really DO NOT care about the Fans, interesting...

You think that its as bad as a player who gets suspended for drugs violations, a player who was accused by the coach as to missing team functions to go to the Superbowl, or a player who lies to a Grand Jury, or an adulturer accused or rape, or player who shot limo driver?

This was on a sports talk radio station? How many CEO or companies that buy the expensive tickets care about the game as much as the social reasons?

I wouldn't necessarily call those guys "fans." Fans "fanatically" follow the team, and though most of them may not have access to the closer seats or may not be able to afford tickets behind Les Alexander, fans still spend time, money and heartfelt emotions on this team. If Mobley doesn't appreciate us fans, then he can simply shove it.

I have to say, I am disappointed that Cuttino Mobley would think that and say that about the fans in Houston. In all my years as a fan of the Houston Rockets I have never heard a player say that or ever thought a player on my team would feel that way. I could never imagine Horry, Cassell, Elie, Drexler, or Hakeem feeling that way towards the fans in Houston. It doesn't make sense for him to come out and say that now when the fans our geared to support the team while at home for the playoffs. If thats how Mobley feels about the fans in Houston then he needs to start packing his bags.

Guess you werent around before the Mobley and Francis era when the Rockets would play in front of a sellout crowd every home game. Mobley needs to go do some more Yoga and relax. Like Barkley use to say, a man who is paid so well to play professional basketball is as blessed as any man in America. No wonder Barkley and Hakeem would shake their heads at the brat pack.

We only support a team that cares the fans feeling and play for the fans.
I would say Mobley is extremely inmature, and his bashing on the fans showed that he does not have the real heart to play. He sometimes played hard just to show himself off.
