I really don't care what he says, just as long as he helps the Rox win, if he gets lit up again, I say call for his damn head.
I absolutely agree with what Mobley said. If I work hard day in day out, and 1000s of people are talking shiz about me... I'd be F'ing PO'd too. I mean it doesn't stop me from talking stuff about players, I mean that's in the job description of FAN. However we all have our perogatives. His perogative is to be annoyed in this situation.
he probably shouldn't have said anything but hell he's right. i barely read anything in the garm anymore and have a low tolerance for call-in shows because of the insane amount of bashing.
It make sense that the fans can also be annoying to a professional player, but Mobley could handle that question on a more nice way but then again you know now that he is a straight shooter. Mobley will explode on game #3!!
No fans=No Toyota Center=No Les Alexander=No Rockets=No Mobley. WE pay the bills! If we don't pay any attention to these Bozo's, watch their stupid commercials, buy and wear their stupid products and attend their "stupidly" played games, people like Francis and Mobley would be parking cars. The real dimwits are the ones aggreeing with Mobley's asinine comments. Hey Cat, Kiss my A** and win a game!
*** Mobley. he's a b*tch anywayz.... the guy thinks he's a star... i'm a mobley hatter from now on... trade the fool for some second round draft pick.... to the L.A Clippers...he'll learn his lesson
So...no Rockets...no NBA? Why would you think that SF and Cat are too stupid to get a "real job"...... How many NBA teams actually make money? A few years ago it was around the half-way mark. So are you going to start sending money to your team. Look in the Toyota Center how many fans are there? How many people got their tickets from work? Who's paying the bills?
Mobley didn't say he "couldn't" care less about what fans think, he said he "could" care less about what fans think. That means that he reads this board and takes everything to heart, so to help his peace of mind, he could try and care less about what we think. See, he really does care about what we think.
Who cares about Mobley. Remember that article on him in the Chronicle? He mentioned that his aspirations were becoming famous, being in movies, and basically bling bling. He didnt' even mention about being on a championship team. Hmm. He is getting paid $5m a year to daydream basically.
"Cuttino Mobley bashing us..." Yawnn..... It's not Cat... He's playing the best he can given his role on this team and his responsibility on Kobe. Our bigger problem is that we have no leadership (in talent and brains).
I don't know what the reporters are telling Mobes about what we think, but it should have been positive for the most part this season. Most of us believe Mobes has shown up, plays with heart...said he will learn catch and shoot and did...is passing better...playing good defense....and making better decisions. The reporters should tell Mobes a lot of us approve. I would say most of the criticism this year has been directed towards Francis, although he has improved but isn't consistent.
The good news is I have a new signature. The bad news is you need to lay off the psychodelic mushrooms. People are taking this stuff way too seriously. Since when are pro athletes comments in the heat of the moment important relative to the effort they give out.
When the media always wants to turn it around and fuel some stupid fire. Taking it out of context always ruins things...
I'll make it real simple: Just shut up and play. Play up to your potential, play smart instead of dumb, play an unselfish team game, and the fans will follow. D R
you guys are sick, absolutely sick and so is MOBES. I cannot believe he said that....and i am so sick of hearing from the Houston fan whiners..... The games are freakin sold out! As will the next game and the next round, should we pull off a miracle....this board is an indication of passion....yet, some of you seem to ignore the polls and statistics over and over again, because you are posers.... Look at the board polls and you will see that -over 80% believe the Rox will win at least one game at home of the next 2 -45% believe the rox will even up the series. -only 17% believe the rox are done and will not win at all the next 2 games... Who cares what fanz think about Francis or Ming, those folks are passionate about their team and want success.....they post here because the love the rox....yes, some are fair weather, but the stats above do not lie...a majority of fanz think the rox will do well and it is near near close that a majority will tie up the series...how can you label this fair-weather...most who say this are unintelligent about fan dynamics...it's the same in all towns!!!!! So, to any of you fan bashers, get off the board if you hate Houston fanz so much. I will say it again, this board is no different that any board in America. If you post here, you are a very passionate fan, whether you hate francis, hate Ming, or love everyone no matter what happens...... I think what Mobes said is true in one sense and very ignorant in the other....True, we should take family more seriously than the game---dah!...But, at the same time it is the fan passion that helps support his life infrastructure (cars, mortgages, jewelry, insurance, bills...etc.). He gets paid because we decide to put out the jack to come see him play and hopefully win....Yes, we should not take it seriously, but for the moment in time where the game is being played, how about he show a little respect for the 16k+ that show up to everygame watching his team make ignorant plays and do unprofessional things on the court, yet we come back for more and sell out at home....how about Mobes instead say, "you know we owe it to our fans to make a good showing at home and make it happen...I hope fans understand the life is bigger than us beating the Lakers, but I hope to give them a good show"...how about that statement instead... These statements are ridiculous and really show lack of respect for the organization and fanbase in general......It is a no brainer, of course family is more important, but jesus, can't we enjoy the sport and be passionate. I guess we cannot root for the team either because we all have problems and should not go to the games...what a loser
He should care about improving his dumbass level of play on the court. But seriously, I am in total agreement with your post. Mobley, Taylor and Francis want all of the Houston fans to line up and kiss their sorry underachieving a$$es. When this doesn't happen they lash out at the fans. Someone with a lot of crayons needs to sit them down and explain in big colorful letters that were it not for the fan's interest in their sport, they'd have to be out somewhere working for a living.
I'm sure most pro athletes have a low opinion of fans. I'm sure most movie stars, pop stars, rock stars, tv stars, and anyone else famous and rich probably has a very low opinion of us "common folk". This is what happens when people are paid zillions of dollars to do essentially "nothing", and then have the entire country/world fawn all over them. It's more our fault (the public) than theirs. We made them. The Rockets are going to lose the series. Winning 4 out of 5 just isn't going to happen, and all of them know that changes will be made in the off season. If you think that CM's comments were explosive, just wait until after the season is over, and certain players don't have a reason to hold back any longer. Raven
