Doug Collins was saying the same thing about the Wizards last night. He was like, 'believe it or not we tell them what to do over and over and over again and it just doesn't happen.'

It's sad when Yao gets a highlight for an attempted pass. This is how sorry it has gotten.

Yeah, I think it was in the third quarter. Yao Ming set himself up in the low post and Cuttino Mobley just looked him off and drove in himself.

Cuttino is a first rate ball hog.

I remember that play. Here's Yao, who looks dead tired and frustrated after fighting off double teams the whole second half. He's finally is able to work his way into getting great postion and Mobley totally ignores him. I remember soon after that play Yao began to really take his time getting back on offense. Walking up the court every possesion instead of running. He's gotta be frustrated and I can't blame him.

You know what, playing with Cat requires a lot of
energy. No wonder Yao is easy to get tired.

That's interesting. Doug Collins is supposed to be a good coach. And Michael Jordan is supposed to be teaching the young kids how the play the game right.

hey.....in the fourth and 3rd quarter he was the only player hitting his shots.

The rocks really need to work on their passing...though they looked great the first half of last night.

It is not a technique of catching a pass. Yao was a great ball catcher before joining our team. So are our other players.

The problem is too much ISO. Everybody does not expect a pass from his teammate. You can tell most of time, four players are watching with no movement whatsoever. Also, when ISO does not work, they just panic.

That goes the intensity and readiness.

Our players don't know how to beat zone as well.

You know even in high school it teaches you to attack zone, you need quick, patient passing, keep doing it, eventually you will get an open look on the perimeter.

But our players think getting one on one iso is the way to beat zone. How they got that idea I never know.

And apart from not passing, we also don't have enough pure shooters to beat zone consistently.

Cat made one good pass to Cato but completely ignored Ming. His passing ability has gotten worse over the years because he has concentrated on scoring all the time.

Yesterday's Chicago Tribune ran an article by Sam Smith. He ranked the Rockets at #11 of 29 for the midseason (way, way too generous; and he had the Lakers at #9, probably giving them the benefit of the doubt, Dick Bavetta still being an active ref and all).

Anyway, his blurb on the Rockets sums it up well:

    #11 Houston Rockets.

Memo to Cuttino Mobley: There's a 7'6" guy wide open under the basket. Pass him the ball.

    CC: Steve Francis, Moochie Norris

Now hearing all of this nationally. This is not just myself, but most people noticing that Cuttino will not pass to Ming unless he is about to turnover the ball or get swatted.

Its just crazy. Rudy needs to bench him in favor of ANYONE just to prove a point. Bring him in the game with Mo and Cato.

I think he plays well with those two anyway.

When Glen Comes back I would be in favor of moving Posey to starting at the 2, with Glen starting at the three.

Morris has shown he is a solid backup for Rice and Nachbar will get some playing time if Cuttino comes off the bench for Posey.

That's because he usually passes with like 3,4 second left, and the receiver has to rush. He also passes into well covered player.

    Please, stop defending Mo'Ball-ley

I guess Rudy's chalk board EMPHASIS was pass Ming the Ball!!

I see Cuttino giving it up a bit more and by doing that he had open looks all night and shot 9-12.

With the quotes, it seems that everyone is starting to buy into the inside Ming-out philosophy.

Nice what two blowouts can do for your perception of your game!

F.D. Khan, Cat probably read this thread ;)

That's the most unselfish play I've seen from him since the Hakeem days! Hope he keeps it up!

If you've read Yao's recent quotes, you can see an undercurrent of resentment. He's very discreet about it, but after the victories, he made comments that seemed to indicate he highly approved of unselfish basketball involving passing. And that such was not always hte case for "everybody" on the Rockets. He phrased it in the positive... but, there's something there.

Maybe CM was surfing the web and accidently came to this site and read our forum on how we trash him about his passing.

Cuttino will pass to Yao more often...

for example. Kings game, first half i think....

Cuttino gave the ball to Yao in the post, then Cat cuts in the lane, Ming bounce pass to Cat, Mobley with the bucket, Christie looks dumb.

    The End we win :)

Dude is a SHOOTING guard and you guys are knocking him?

    Ridiculous.

His defense has improved each year and this year is no exception. I think Posey may have helped him out a bit in that department when he came from Denver, because he looks like a new man out there.
