Are you sure you are a Rockets fan? The year before Yao was the year Francis was out for most of the season. Coincidentally, it was one of the worst years we had. I don't think you know that since you talk about that year as the "culmination" of those Rockets. Well the year before that, when Francis was healthy, we won 45 games. What's the most wins we had with Yao, 45. This streetball charge that keeps getting levied at the Rockets pisses me off because despite the ridiculous skipping down the court, the Rockets never came close to playing streetball. Rudy T's love of isos is not the same as And 1 basketball. What is the new direction of this team? The only excellent game by Tracy had him going one on one, one on two, and shooting the 3 every chance he got. Yao can't seem to dominate in the post. The rest of the team can't take advantage of his passing by cutting to the basket. Francis is by no means perfect and he is an awful playmaker, but being a bad PG who makes too many TOs does not equate streetball. Francis's problem isn't a streetball mentality, it's a lack of teaching. The guy only played one year of organized ball in highschool and 2 of his 3 years in college were at junior colleges. If he grew up like Yao, being force fed basketball and training like an olympic athlete since he was a child, there's no telling how good he could have been.
Say what ya want about Orlando, but them boyz are just getting it done right now. Phoenix and Seattle are too. I still think we would eventually pull it together as well.
The fact is they are guaranteed to be in the playoffs due to the weaker Eastern Conf., but having said that, they are fun to watch and love to see the highlights...
Unless he is really injured, I don't see how in the hell he could be the odd man out....considering he is the only guy who is able to hit the trey.
i hope so. But nobody here knows if he is injured, and mostly when a player gets injured somebody here knows about it. But i realy hope he is injured(never thought i would say this )
I recall reading he has plantar ficsilus (sp) , but IIRC in the past that was the "excuse injury" to put someone on the IR.
I am by no means trying to say its 'the Rockets guys' that puts Magic in the position they are... all I am trying to say was that lots of poster here do not gives the Magic the recognition they deserve and just simply comes out saying that its bcos they are in the East....
He was agreeing with you. Saying that it isn't just becaue they are in the east. It's because they have a good core of players who complement each other.
Hey man, give me a break. I got up relatively early, and have been studying Chem Eng, all night etc...... I can't remember what that crap is called.....and so I made something up that seemed to be in the general area......to me atleast.
So what that he missed half the year? What's your point? I said that that year marked the end of their novely act - as in it was his 3rd year in the league and he was still making the same dumb mistakes. It wasn't cute anymore by then. I notice that you always forget to mention that Grant Hill is probably the only player in the league capable of covering Steve's (many) weaknesses. I wouldn't expect you of all people to understand that though.
grant is not great for cat and steve because he can handle the ball, he is a good fit for the guys because he is a good mid range shooter.
Did Sports Center show any highlights from this game? I've been on my computer for a few hours with SC on my tv and I haven't seen it through 3 rotations. Did they just do one of those things where they show the highlights of one game then show the box score of that game plus another?
Thank you! That pisses me off as well. It's funny, in HOU, SF and CAT couldn't run the fast break, now in ORL (with Paul Westhead's teaching) they're leading the league in fastbreak points. Wow, coaching a player up. Isn't that better than JVG's coaching a player down to fit his style?
Great point. But Hill does help Steve with ball handling duties also. And you know what, so what? These Steve haters act like it makes Steve a bad player because he actually needs players that help his game around him. Every top player in the league is limited if his team is built around his talents. That's no knock on Steve.
sorry.... my bad.... been a tiring day for me..... for as much as Hill is helping Francis handle the ball.... Francis is turning the ball over more than last season and taking 2 more shots with a higher percentage, higher assist numbers and rebounds.... 03-04 HOU 79 79 40.4 .403 .292 .775 1.50 4.00 5.50 6.2 1.76 .44 3.72 3.30 16.6 04-05 ORL 18 18 37.5 .430 .303 .863 1.60 4.70 6.30 6.4 1.72 .11 4.39 3.70 20.7 say all u want.... but I think Steve and Hill really complement each other well.... add in Mobley.... that makes Magic a team that has 3 starters capable of scoring 20pts per night.... and another in Hedo off the bench...... the trade is not wat makes Magic good.... Francis is not, but to deny the fact that he is helping this team becomes what it is now is just plain hatred against him......
