Basketball is a rhythm game. Too much iso. Also Isiah Harstein is not the answer. If pringles would play a traditional power forward and move tuck to small forward rebounding would not be an issue. This team is getting killed on the boards. Ga.e wrap in a nutshell
Even after tonight...Melo has still been better than Chris Paul this season. Gonna be a long season, my friends...
Yall blame Melo while nobody besides Tuck and JH is playing right. Coaching issues. We are so figured out its feeling suicidal watching this ****
Didn't I tell y'all that you will be in here blaming everyone but Melo when the same shots he was making stop falling most of the time? For Melo's career to move in a different direction, his attack strategy has to move in a different direction. There is a reason for playing the way we do, it's not based on someone's whim. If you are only taking contested 3's and contested mid range 2's, then your defender is always within a foot of you AND crowding the inside. You have to take 3's and attack the basket so they have to commit to the two shots furthest from each other: a layup and a long range 3. Just because you got stuffed at the rim doesn't mean you retreat. Getting into rhythm and taking those shots just so he can continue doing what he's always done... who the F wants that? Why the F hasn't he been able to get into a season-long rhythm in years? Because it doesn't work for the team. Just like Dwight's post ups don't work for a team, it just doesn't work, no matter how good it makes him feel once in a while, it does not suit the team for him to take rhythm shots and then test shots to see if he's in rhythm and then he's only in rhythm once every 4-5 games. This isn't 'So you think you can dance'. NO ONE ELSE REQUIRES THIS MUCH RHYTHM PREPARATION FFS. And to be clear, it's not only Melo's fault we're losing. He's just one of several reasons. I am only talking about his portion of the responsibility in his thread.
The problem is Melo provides literally nothing but mediocre scoring. Literally. He doesn't pass, defend, rebound, etc. He doesn't do anything but inefficiently score the basketball. He's replaceable with hundreds of players. He's not the entire problem but he is a huge problem.
This thread is going to suck by the way. His good games people will be in here saying see I told you. His bad games people will be in here saying see I told you.
and that's a problem. so going by this logic a vet min player is someone that isn't any good. all of the rockets offseason acquisitions are minimum players.
Correct. He will have some decent games because he has talent but is old. So like on the road trip he had 2 pretty good games. Then he will have games like OKC games. It is he nature of a vet on the decline on a Min contract. Blaming struggles on a Vet Min player is missing the bigger problems with the team. It starts with one of the 40 million dollar men. When you pay someone a Vet Min contract you expect one type of production and when you pay someone 40 mil you expect a different type of product. When your Vet Min player is playing crappy but still out preforming your 40 mil dollar man and yet people keep blaming the Vet Min player it is crazy.
the bigger problems is that the rockets replaced rotational players with all min players. that's not going to cut it. and an obvious cause for much of the regression. plenty of people are criticizing cp3. dont act like its just all going to melo. you're just posting in a melo thread and trying to defend him. you're welcome to go to the other cp3 threads
