It's still vey early in the season. You can't expect a player like that to just change his shot selection all at once. Give him (and the team) more time to learn what works best for the team. The WHOLE team is still trying to figure everything out.
I think I agree with you, but I’m not sure about the word “declining” It does come down to Ryan Anderson vs Melo (now).....Ryan became only a Center for us by the trading deadline; spot shooter from 3 only. Player.......mins......pts......3P%.....2P%....eFG%....rebs......ORtg......DRtg.......USG%......PER......TS%........VORP (18/19) Ryan Anderson....21.5......6.1........25%.....46%.... .413.......3.5.........101........119...........14.8..........8.1..... .470........ -0.1 (18/19) Melo............31.3......15.5......37%.....52%.... .540.......5.5..........110.......115............19.9.........13.3.... .560....... -0.1 Melo best 2P% (.520.....previous best was .509)........ .473 career. eFG% (.540...previous best was .511)....... . 482 career. Last year Melo was a 23.2 USG% Career .542 TS% (currently .560 TS%) So VORP shows not much difference with Tucker & Melo (-0.1) https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/anderry01.html https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/anthoca01.html
no dude. i compared them both having bad defense. and how you can get away with one bad defender on the floor. where did you get that from? this overall impact thingy?
Bleacher report article on Carmelo Anthony's defense: "Carmelo Anthony hasn't been a helpful defender since the Bush administration"
Not sure if this has been posted because I don't feel like reading through all of this thread but Melo is averaging 20 PPG on 49% shooting and 44% on threes...if we can get anywhere near this production from him going forward I think he's going be alright...
