I see this more in college and wonder why NFL folks don't do it more... And that's go back to the same play 1 or 2 more times. Typically its the corner fade to a receiver that clearly has a matchup advantage. I wondered this with Dre, and wonder it with Hopkins. 1st and goal? Just plan 3 straight corner fades to Hopkins. Unless we're talking about the 2 yard line or something.
Vegas currently has the game as a pickem. I am not confident we will win this game as the line currently stands. National fan polls has us winning which more money will be put on Texans, leaving me with the uneasy feeling of the seedy Vegas powers that are. But if you're saying more money is being put on the pats, I love it. I hope the rest of the country puts their money on the qb-less pats.
Texans 30, Patriots 21. No uneasy feeling, no concerned, do not be scared, people, just enjoy the game, We will get this one this time highly likely.
Patriot fans be whining their little tails off! I have to laugh considering we have served our dues last few years. They will receive no sympathy from us.
I've seen it work, but i wouldn't call can't miss, and it wouldn't be the type of play I'd run over and over... because I've seen it result in turnovers as well, or sacks, with the play action component. The corner fade route - there is interception potential if the QB really underthrows it. But assuming the QB is decently capable of making that throw... if you're looking at 1st and goal from the 4+ yard line, and you have Hopkins, it seems like something you should go to multiple times. It doesn't ask a lot of the o-line, eliminates the chance of sack/fumble and basically makes it a 1 on 1 thing... where with Hopkins, almost every time you know your guy is better than their guy.
Damn right no Sympathy! 2015 Brian Hoyer (9) / Ryan Mallett (4) / T.J. Yates (2) / Brandon Weeden (1) 2014 Ryan Fitzpatrick (12) / Ryan Mallett (2) / Case Keenum (2) 2013 Matt Schaub (8) / Case Keenum (8)
Can't wait till Kick off. Went off on a politics in signature tantrum....but screw it. Let's go Texans!
it's time for the O line to man up and start knocking heads off, without grabbing their face masks of course,in the "RED". Get the run game going inside the 20 and you can play action all you want. But please No more passing from spread when it's 5 yards to paydirt. It's such a compact area. You're just inviting cornerbacks to use the 5 yards they're given to push you off and jump the route. Routes that are all about timing and it's clearly an issue right now. I expect it to get better as the season goes on. Texans should get this though 24 to 20. Last years game, Keyshawn took a good PR on a bad punt. Hoyer and them boyz on kirby just kept putting the D in bad position. And when they did move the ball, stupidity stalled the drives for FGs. You can't do stupid. Not against bellacheat. Also, one last bug sweep under the sideline benches and stationary bikes. trust no one.
Brisket better watch what he says and does, RAC is gonna wreck him. But thanks for the heads up, I noticed that.
I'd hate to be a Brisket with Watt, Clowney, Mercilus and especially WIlfork coming for me. That's just horrible to think about.
